Just get you a CARB sticker from one of the aftermarket brands that has a similar look.

Still don't understand why emissions needs to know what your intake is doing.

thats so dumb. I was going to do this mod but maybe i'll wait till after my smog in july. I need to ask the tech at the normal place I go. I thought if the mod is before the air filter, it would pass visual.

I've never had to remove mine. I used a flexible hose that doesn't attract much attention, but usually they ask about it and don't care for the reason you mentioned.

This is the main reason I haven't done it yet. My OBA setup goes over the OEM intake lines (and prevents access to the bolts), so it would be a major PITA to deal with to get smogged.

Yeah, it's dumb. I know some places will pass it visually and others wont. It took me 20 minutes to pull it out and put the stock intake and another 20 minutes to put it all back after, so no big deal for me.

Your air lines? We're running the same compressor mount and I don't touch that to do the quick swap. You should be able to pull out/put back the stock intake without messing with those lines. The only thing I moved was the uni-mod filter thing closer to the cab (3 bolts) to be able to make room to put the stock intake back in.

After looking at it again, you're right. I could just reinstall the OEM intake and skip screwing in the front-side bolt. Looks like I can remove that screw with a ratcheting closed-end wrench without having to remove the OBA compressor.

I started to read through this but didn't find it. Is there a way to do this for the 2.7L?

You'd have to have an inline filter added too. Otherwise it'd be no filter to the intake. Some kind of inline canister filter could work, but the MAF would need some work since it's like right on the stock airbox and probably tuned to have more tube between it and the engine.

What is everyone using to line the hole and isolate the pipe from vibration? I've got 3" OD alloy pipe and a 3-1/4" holesaw bit. I was thinking that I could use a 3" ID silicone tube as sleeve, but that looks like it'd be a bit too thick to fit.

I think the easiest is a piece of door edge trim.

I used door trim at first but it rattled, then I took Rob's advice and used bulb seal (think that is what it is called). It's linked somewhere in this thread a couple times. Hasn't rattled since.

Same as door trim but has a little cushion piece on top.
