Cheap hole saws don't have sharpened teeth, just sheared, rolled, and welded. Higher quality ones have the teeth sharpened after welding and then painted before packaging. If you bother to you can touch up the teeth with a grinder but you won't be able to change the quality of the steel. Look at the teeth before you buy, sharpened teeth will have a bevel as well as a set. Set is the alternating in/out of the teeth. Pure metal cutting blades have minimal set while blades for making curved cuts in wood have more. Heat dulls the teeth very quickly in metals so oil or water to cool and carry away cuttings will speed the cut and prolong tool life. A step drill works great to accurately start the pilot hole and ream it out to the 1/4" standard for hole saws.

No issues with mine, however it rattles bad off-roading, so I may do one of these and a rubber joint.

just did a full day of snow wheeling and the intake worked flawlessly besides the occasional rattle

    Anthony,
Split a piece of small rubber hose and run it around the edge of the hole to form a grommet. The fit of the tube should be slip snug. Depending on your existing hole size, you may have to open it up a bit. Mine is silent in every condition.

I did do this. Even made a L bracket and A hose clamp to the tube. I used a 3.5” hole saw for a 3” tube....too big

I may try that. It used to rattle on cold start, fixed that but on washboard roads it gets annoying lol

A piece of door edge protector or split some 1/4" tubing to line the hole.

Did this a few weeks ago. Works awesome so far. Just need to fix the pipe from vibrating, the door edge trim I used isn’t soft enough. I think anyway

I had the same issue with the first trim I used, but then replaced it with this cushy trim below and the rattle went away. I had to make my hole a tad bigger to fit it.

I’ll be using a 3” silicone coupler and a manifold today to fix that exact issue.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
If you only allow silicone to pass through the cowl bulkhead then you don't have to worry about rattle. It drove me crazy. I cut off the tube short and then connected a silicone piece to pass through only. It conforms to the hole for irregular cut or shape and absorbs any and all vibrations.
