My earlier post said someone selling a tailgate should be a red flag. I didn NOT say that person is always committing a crime 100% of the time. But considering the totality of the circumstances... private seller, on craigslist, selling a single tailgate, makes the radar go up and one should probably ask a few more questions.

In California trespassers are protected under the law from violence. They have to be presenting a deadly force, and then maybe you can respond with deadly force.

It’s better to just do nothing. Especially in San Francisco, were the DA has said lifestyle crimes will not be prosecuted. I think grand theft is considered a lifestyle crime there.

also, how much are these tailgates? Stealing Anything under 1000 is no longer a crime basically in CA.

it’s not worth it. The cops won’t help you. Criminals have priority over citizens in CA. It’s our fault they’re criminals anyways because we’re greedy productive citizens.

I just pointed out that there could be certain scenarios where it could happen. Is it likely, not IMO, but it is possible for someone to mod their truck and dump the tailgate.

I mean, if i'm buying a tailgate from CL i'm assuming it is stolen. It's gonna be true probably 95% of the time.
