BTW I've been drinking the mountain spring water near the end of the trail for years without issues. Much better than bringing a a weeks worth of water. Dont hold me accountable if you get a brain eating bacteria though...

i had to turn around in early september right after the creek crossing, pretty washed out and deep that i couldnt straddle it like i had hoped and ripped up both my fender flares and was worried about snapping my rear axle with the angles, but i also dont have much experience and my lady wasnt happy with me trying to rally up over the big rock and potentially tipping over into the washout. that was about a few miles before the lakes and camp sites. ill return next year for another go and hopefully with another vehicle for better safety margins as we were solo. awesome area though! a humbling experience for myself. the ko's worked well though.

Revival of an old thread. Has anyone recently completed this trail in 2wd? Want to go up with a group this summer and all of them are 2wd with lifts and 33s.

I did coyote flats from bishop last year and it was a little sketch from the bishop side anyway, there was snow though which is always a game changer

I know that it's doable with no snow. I might be interested to join if there's spots available

This one has been on my to-do list. I'm planning on doing it sometime in the Spring or Summer, no set date yet. If someone has something developing and posts it up I'll hop on, otherwise I'll post up when I'm planning to go and see if anyone else has any interest in joining.
