If you have any sort of lift or leveling kit on your truck that needle bearing (if not changed to a solid bearing) will fail. This is the same needle bearing in the Gen 2s. I know my local dealer puts in solid bearings when they lift or level tacomas now.

For the vibrations on the steering wheel, that could be your tires needing rebalanced.

I have had both of these problems on my gen 2. Annoying but fixable. And partly why I have not wanted to lift or level my Gen 3 the dealer likes to void warranties if it's an after market lift. Pain in the ass.

BE WARE there is no such thing as a Toyota factory lift kit, so technically, they all void the warranty, even if the dealership installed it for you. Dealerships can be the worst offenders with using crappy lift kits. They are usually done by an off road shop, outside the dealership, and without input from the Service department. Toyota may be more lenient if the dealer did it, but it can still void the warranty.
