    Hi Guys,

New taco owner here and everything has been great the past couple of days until I looked at found a couple of cracked old seam welds that look like the bumper support going onto the main frame. For reference, this happened on both sides, at the rear of the support bracket, and both in the exact same spot.

Any idea what could have caused this, can it be fixed with a simple weld, or am i currently on a one way ticket down shit creek w/o a paddle?

    Cheers. Im gonna get drunk.

Ugh...none of the welds look factory... maybe they hit something?

With some grinding and skilled MIG welding you should be able to get close to full strength again.

Yeah those were repaired at some point, not factory welds. And then they hit something again?

Not the most critical part of the bumper mount, but I would make sure to do a quality job of repairing that.

I would get any nearby plastic off, grind out the middle of the welds down to their root, then re-weld with good penetration, then re-paint and reassemble. Easy job if you have a welder. Not an awful thing but maybe you can get some money back from the seller?

Don't forget to drill holes at both ends of the cracks or they will keep running. Then prep and weld

Those look like some really poor stick welds. It looks like there is still flux on them at some points. I wonder if somebody tried to pull something using that front tie down lug . The hole in that point looks deformed.

Wyoming, no winch but I can confidently say that they definitely hit something now. Talked to my welder friend and he said he can fix it no problem; he'll even reinforce it for me. Don't drink and weld kids.
