What about 3k for the headlights any one have pics of that I like the blue but yellow is more functional for fog and rain and dust.

Thanks for the help I'm kinda being annoying with this but I'm just looking around before I buy it

12k is purple.. It's neat looking but doesn't do much other than get you pulled over a lot.

I have 5k in my moms 05 and my dads 08, both were installed when they got the trucks band new in those years. So never had any issues in all these years other than one bulb going out.

Call yourself lucky. I had 12k in my integra and was getting pulled over left and right for them. Here in Az they care about the color only. If it puts any color other what white on a piece of paper 12inches away, ticket. (Yellow seems to be ok here, my motorcycle has 1 yellow/1 white HID, never been ticked for it)

Put 5k's in, never been pulled over since. Both my parents have 5k's never been pulled over.

    12k:eek:

first off your factory fogs will put down more light than this setup second it will be purple  third if your buying 12 anything it's got to be some piece of shit pnp kit.

dude save your money retrofit it's a thousand times better or the alternative is to run a high performance halogen bulb.

check this link to clearcorners.com there is a solid write up on halogens and the choices you have for bulbs. also look inot there hid faq page as it will basically repeat what i just told you about choosing a color temp. if you want hids look into 4300k or 5k no higher or you will lose light. in a quality setup the color of the lights can be dramatic not from the bulb temp but, the color flicker from the projector ie, the cut off line.

or go to theretrofitsource.com and buy your self a real set-up parts will run around 300 dollars for a very respectable setup one that will in fact be brighter than any oem hid light by a good bit. plus your not going to glare other drivers into a ditch on the side of the road :)

to the op i have seen some aftermarket housings do this in around a years time but, i'm referring to micro hairline cracks that are barely noticeable. they are more cosmetic than anything else but, i guess given enough heat and time they would manifest into actual cracks.

for the stock housings to crack i would have to believe its from the heat being blasted at the lens. the plastics used in the oem headlight are of a much higher quality than the after market housings there seems to be a misconception of the temp that xenon bulbs operate at. while they draw less power once they are past the initial ignition the temp is actually much hotter than a halogen bulb.

a 55 watt xenon for example can get so hot it can melt the rear of the housing if not retrofitted properly. a 35 watt system on average will still generate more than likely one and a half to two times the amount of heat the halogen bulb will.

so in this situation more heat means less power drain this is usually the opposite in most situations.

you literally cannot have good lighting with bulbs that high on the kelvin scale

4300 or 5k thats all. i would even venture to say that a quality 5k bulb would provide twice the visible light of a 12k possibly more. this is not an opinion its a fact. i don't mean to come off as a know it all or a smart ass here i'm just informing.

and the color flicker of a projector goes a loong way to making the lights appear blue to other drivers the projector lens themselves will look blue/ purple. they will also light street signs purple then blue then bright white as you draw nearer to them. its actually quite pretty when done right and extremely effective.

this also has to do with projector choice for instance the mini d2s has almost no color flicker or color in the cutoff what so ever while the fx-r has a ton! the most of any projector i have seen minus some of the hybrids and heavily modded ones out there if thats all your after but, you want nice lights go that route.

i would not lie to you i know this for a fact bud :)

edit: i'll just leave this here...
