Already replaced with an oem set once. Does it hurt to just leave it this time?

A couple of thoughts here. First, there was a TSB out (that has since expired) on the "burned lens over the running light" issue. I'm not sure if you didn't get notification of that TSB or your headlights were possibly replaced with the non-TSB ones. Your picture clearly shows the same burned lens which will make the lens brittle and thus much easier to break with any kind of impact. I'm betting that's what happened.

Getting back to your original question, it looks like you have a hole in the outer lens which will allow water to get inside the headlight housing. This will be bad over time as the water will oxidize the reflector and reduce light output. It will also lead to premature bulb failure. You will also find that the electrical connections to the bulbs will corrode and eventually fail. Personally, I'd suggest new headlights.

Open headlights and remove the reflector. :)
