Dude, everyone is getting ban hammered around here. Some of the members which have been may be abrasive, yes, but are an insanely helpful and integral part of this forum and virtual community.

    What the serious fuck.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Why did I have to read this! Just performed this procedure and found a small crack, about an inch in length. I'll be relocating my battery ASAP!

Hmmm, from what I’ve seen I have no cracks unless I’m missing something. I guess you have to drive a lot more ignorant than I do... I feel sorry for OPs truck.

This area is under engineered and subjected to a lot of stress. The cabin is pretty heavy and the front of it is supported only by the two brackets to the frame. The sheet metal is too thin for what is supposed to do and there is a lot of flex between the frame and cabin. I replaced the OEM rubber bushings with ES universal ones 2 weeks ago and "maybe" I tightened them too much and did not put any grease on them, but now I have a lot of squeaking and creaking from them, especially when slightly (when stopped) turn the wheel left/right flexing the frame/cab connection. So if that slight movement of the wheel is causing flex when truck stopped on a flat surface, imagine the torque and stress is there when off road wheeling or turning at high speed.
Either reinforce the hell out of it (how?) or only drive straight on flat surface if you don't want to have metal tear there.

The point of a bushing is to allow things to move. If its a poly bushing, there's a good chance its gonna squeak without lube. I don't think this means it is under engineered.

A bit disappointed in the ES bushings. They are a lot better than the OEM bushings BUT they do not tell you that they will squeak if not greased. Have watched their promo video and they mention that poly bushings will make noise without grease. Also a few other videos about poly bushings want installers that grease MUST be used since poly is notorious for squeaking. There was no grease in the package box. Have called them and asked where is my grease and pointed to their promo video and was told that I have to buy it separately...I did. Yesterday I called again and asked them how much I should grease their bushings and the guy told me not to use their silicone grease but use anti seize grease...Now I have to spend a lot of time again to undo-redo the installation, torque to specks and grease them. The worst and hardest part is removing the wheel-well liner.

So there ya have it. No grease required they it wouldn’t hurt and stave off rust though based on your location probably not a concern

I believe that sheetmetal is weak by design so the vehicle passes front crash safety tests.... it collapses helping absorb the impact forces. If you reinforce it, it may change the crash worthiness of the vehicle and therefore the survival probability of occupants inside. I would go the dealer first and let them fix it.

The dealer won’t. They’ll say you abused the vehicle and deny warranty
