Found these on Craigslist, the seller is asking $350. I don't know how to weld. Would this be fixable by an exhaust shop, or would I be better off avoiding them?

It’s fixable for sure but they were already repaired by someone previously. Make sure you go to a good shop where they will stand by their work.

A experienced Tig welder can make the ugly disappear. F- for the weld quality of the guy who welded it

Seems like a lot for the set with one very broken. It should be repairable but the HR flux core weld job that someone did may require a bit of work to fix properly 'cus it's not a crack...it's proper broken.

He's throwing in a new intermediate pipe and catalytic converter with the headers too for that price. That's making it a little more tempting for me.

Don’t buy em if you don’t know the answer, as it’s not worth bringing to someone at that price. Also already been attempted to repair by what appears to be a crack addict, which makes it worse

And $350? Fuck no, they are worth slightly more than scrap value

I’d take the photo to your welder and find out what it’d cost to repair. The TRD headers are the best headers made for the 5VZ, so if you can buy these and get them repaired all for under $300-400, I say it’s well worth it. Add ceramic coating and you’re still ahead compared to some crappy fitting Dumb Thorleys at $700.:D

I see you are supercharged so naturally, you’re going to want headers. After installing some Dumb Thorley headers on a buddy’s truck, I didn’t realize how good I had it when I installed my TRD headers 20 years ago; and they have been leak free all that time. Just changed all the header gaskets as preventative maintenance a few months ago when I had the transmission out to change the clutch.

lol, seen the same add. Guy is also selling a supercharger no?! Anyhow as a fabricator/ welder; yes they can be fixed but the previous repair failed because welding a header without proper pre-heat and equipment will lead to the surrounding metal being more brittle leading to more cracks just like that. Especially on something that goes through countless heat cycles. At $350 or even $200 I think they are steep. but like someone said find a reputable fabrication/ welding shop, send em those pics and see what they say/ charge.

Yeah, he's also selling a cat back exhaust too. He sent me pics of the SC, and it looks to be on excellent condition.

Looks like I'll be calling some shops to see if they're willing to give me a quote.
