I have one... but it’s 1/4” drive, so it’s basically useless because none of my extensions work

    After I tightened too much:

After I loosened and tightened only to proper-ish torque (using a tiny 1/4” drive socket):

Hmm. I’ll have to see what types of 1/4” extensions they have.

Harbor freight is where I got my 1/4" torque. I have craftsman tools, but for random use stuff harbor freight is unbeatable.

I got a set of wobble tips. I broke a 1/4" extension being dumb trying to take a drive shaft off with it. Gave me a new one no questions asked - lifetime no hassle warranty.

I'm gonna be that guy and say, looks like you streched/bent the alum, but I don't think it cracked. After you loosened it it seems to have returned to form.

It definitely made an audible pop. At which point I began to question the torque specs I read.

Oh well it returned to form after you loosened it, possible you cracked it but it didn't go all that way through, I don't know what the structure is under the bolt holes. Either way valve covers are usually cheap, in fact @Dalandser don't you have a spare?

@4x4runner2002 is sending me one of his spares. Thanks though! You guys are awesome!

It is quite possible the crack didn’t go all the way through.

In 2 weeks my engine will be in - until then I'd have to do some swaperoo's, but I saw that @4x4runner2002 handled it :)
