Cracking ball joint boot

    If the joint has been previously overnighted and the hole elongated, proper torque will still cause accelerated wear on the rubber boot. You will either need a larger tapered ball joint (that will fit the enlarged tapered hole) or you will need to replace the part with the tapered hole in it.

    Hope this makes sense.

    The enlarged hole will cause two peices to fit closer together than they are supposed to. This will not leave enough space for the rubber boot to function properly.

    Agian, this may not be your problem. Just giving you my past experience.

    Update! So dirt king was super chill, i emailed them a description and a picture they the said they would send out new boots. Came home today from a fire line deployment to find a box waiting from them. They sent out a pair of all new ball joints. Even though they don't offer a warranty the guys over there have been super awesome.
