Has anyone else seen issues with cracks in their dash?
I have a 2012 Tacoma and the dash is starting to crack.
I'm sure this will be covered on warranty but I am just curious if this is an issue with other Tacomas.
This is not giving me the warmest of feelings on my interior. Especially when I have less than 15000 miles on it.

This is crazy... seeing this on a few 12/13 trucks.
Doesn't seem to be an issue for 11 and older. My '08 is rock solid.

'05, Florida truck, never parked in a garage, dash looks like new excluding the fact its dirty.

I'd be livid if I had a new truck with cracked dash.

Take it to the dealership to have it replaced. It's the paint that is flaking off. My wifes 12 had the same thing happen. They replaced it no questions asked.

I do have a protectant I put on it. Not at home to see the contents of it though.
Was is a good cleaner/protectant to use that is safe?

I probably should inspect mine for giggles. I use 303 Aerospace on all my inside stuff.

Its a problem from the manufacturer, in the coating process or the paint itself. This isn't happening because of any detailing/cleaning product.

Excuse my ignorance, they paint the plastic dash? Thought the color was introduced into the plastic at the time of molding...

No protectant is ever needed on a modern dashboard. Some protectants
actually shorten the life of the dash and surrounding plastics, but it takes
several years for the problem to show up....by then you ask 'what really did it ?'

Dashboards are designed to bake in the sun hard for years.

These cracks are simply a known flaw and will be covered under warranty,
it is just a screwup by a supplier....

My 05 is peeling as well, but I am well past the warranty period

and it is not nearly as bad as the OP's pictures, just one spot on the pass side about the size of a quarter

Well, the dealer is going to replace the dash under warranty.
After reading the other posts in this thread I am now wondering what I should be using on the dash to clean/shine it.
Am I safe with any product not silicon based?
