craftsman torque wrench fail

    New bolt? Did you have it set to the proper torque?

    I like my Kobalt torque wrenches.

    LED Headlights, Volant CAI, 32" Duratracs
    Always use your free hand to hold the head of the torque wrench in the opposite direction, so the bolt sees "pure" torque and no bending. It's more important for smaller bolts in the in-lb range.

    i know the wrench worked for the previous 5 bolts. the differentiating factor here is the black sleeve/pin that is supposed to be pressed into the head is secured to the cap when removed (see pic) so it could of went on crooked causing the bolt to tighten with a bend? tell me if you're following me here.
