Craigslist - check this out

I'm almost positive that was the exact ad I looked at 6 months ago when I bought my Taco.

I call it a SCAM.

 

Among other things, the poor grammar and broken english in that ad just screams scam. I would tell your buddy to stay away.

 

I sent him an email yesterday, this is what I got back...


Black rims
Snow tires
Spare tire has the original Toyota stock rim on it.
Great tread on all four tires
Salvage title not because it was wrecked but, because it was vandalized.

The thing with the front right headlight is that the actual connection is missing and therefore must be rewired. Thats the only thing wrong with the exterior of the vehicle.

Tires are still all practically brand new, snow/offroad tires. The spare tire located underneath the bed contains the original stock Toyota Tacoma rim.

The interior has no tears or burns.

There is one cigarette lighter missing and that one socket is rusted a bit.

Engine wise the vehicle is in great shape.

There is nothing exterior or interior and if i am not mistaken its the sport version.

The hood and a few other things were just replaced and thats what the previous owner decided to do after the vehicle was vandalized dont know what exactly happened but the vehicle has never been wrecked.

 

I'd be concerned that he is a "college student" - which plays on the 'I'm just an innocent kid who need money'.

It's a lot like the scams where the lady's husband just died and she needs to transfer $400M into your bank account. She's just an innocent widow who needs help....

Did this guy buy the vehicle from a friend to turn it for a profit? Why does he know so little about it?

I'd stay away.

 

Dude, everyone knows those $400M transfers are for real! I call on all those. It's legit.. Lol.

Yea he apparently knows nothing about the truck. If I were buyin that thing from someone, I'd wanna know exactly what happened to the truck before I bought it.

I was never plannin on buyin it or lettin my friend buy it, I Just thought it was funny.

 

New hood and headlight disconnected sure sounds like a front corner wreck to me.
