Craigslist now has a $5 fee

I got busy yesterday and didn't create my listing to sell my 2018 Offroad. So today I sit down, Start to write it out, attach pictures, and then find out they started charging $5 after 4/15/19. Not a lot but definitely a sign of changes. Maybe that will cut down on all the scams out there, including rentals.

 

All craigslist postings are free, except for:

• Job postings in selected areas—$10-75 (fee varies by area)
• Brokered apartment rentals in NYC area—$10
• All by-dealer categories in the US—$3-5
• Cars/trucks by-dealer in the US, Vancouver BC—$5
• Furniture by-dealer in the US, Vancouver BC—$3
• Cars/trucks by-owner in the US—$5(starting April 15)
• Gigs in US and selected CA areas—$3-10
• Services in US and CA—$5

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.

Paid posting accounts provide high-volume posters with additional payment options in some cases.


Instead of selling your used truck, part it out! Selling parts of your truck is still free!

 

I rarely use Craigslist anymore. Rather use OfferUp or Facebook marketplace lol.

 

Agreed. Less anonymity with Facebook marketplace

 

Hopefully that also changes how ads get impacted by predatory flagging. I've had a number of ads (including a recent car ad) get taken down over the years by people that flag them in order to eliminate competition or just be an asshole.

 

Yea, I use OfferUp as well and worst case scenario, ebay if I really just need it gone.

 

I've used craigslist so many times selling bikes cars and a bunch of other shit. Never once has this happened. Are you sure you aren't violating rules?

 

its common practice for someone to flag your post too if they make an offer (generally a low ball one) so you dont get a better one. had that happen more than a few times.

 

Cool, so now Craigslist Scammers are going to scam consumers for their CC information in order to pay for their scam ads...

 

Wish this applied to all apartment rentals. I cant tell you the amount of shit Ive been dealing with trying to find a new place to live next month. They either dont respond (ok, fine dont take my money I guess.. ) or "its already been rented"

 

CL is all scams anyway, I haven't used it in years...

 

facebook market place is so much better

I put a car up for sale friday and it was gone in a hour and 1/2 for my asking price.
and no one messaged me asking if I could ship it because they were in the military and it was a pressent for their niece

Well it was a $1500 car. I thought i listed it high. It was right in the middle for KBB value so like dealership price . I wasn't in a hurry to sell it. I got like 20 messages in the hour and 1/2.

I still feel better meeting people from facebook with cash or goods than I do with Craigslist
