It's one of the typical scams on CL. You can tell by the unusal writing in the ad... And of course, it will be "already in a container ready for shipping" or something like that..

Doesn't it say in huge font at the top of Craigslist that "Offers to ship vehicles are 100% fraudulent" or something like that?

I checked into a "too good to be true" on ebay for a bike once...I actually had a friend in the area who was going to pay cash for it after seeing it for me...and the e-mail i got back was something along the line of...

"It was currently in the shop getting routine maintenance and wouldn't be completed till after the auction ended, but for %50 non refundable deposit, he would end it early so i could go look at it..."

    i never wrote back....

I actually bought my current bike (in my sig) from what i thought was a scam...It was listed for about half what they were asking for used at that time...But i called anyways...She told me it was her ex's and he was in jail and her name was on teh title...She owed a shit ton on it but her parents were gonna pay it off for her and was just sellign ti for whatever she could get...When i went to look at it they were actually really nice people and i felt bad paying so little for it...

At the time they were going in my area for about $9$-10,000 used i only paid $5500

its basically this: http://www.419eater.com/html/letters.htm (click on the stories)

He messes with the scammers. He sometimes gets them to claim to have joined some ridiculous religion. its pretty funny.
