    I had a similar problem in my 2008. Turned out it was a transponder amplifier that sits behind the dash gauges. At the time it was a $400 part. Dealer tried everything, this was a guess on his part and it turned out correct. At the time he said if it didn’t fix the problem I was stuck with the part. At that point I was willing to try anything because the truck was no good to me the way it was. Good luck with your problem. Hoped I helped and did not add to your confusion. I know if you search the 2nd gen there is information on this.
