Cranking issues

To provide you just ONE example of your "isolated incidents" the bolt issue affected over 300 trucks.

300 and could of been the wrong bolts. Only a recall because it's a potential "safety" concern. Basically Toyota cover there ass for a lawsuit if one were to happened to have had the wrong bolts and the module loosen and be damaged in a crash not preventing the airbag from deploying. This isn't Toyota's fault. Some moron on the assembly line or parts supplier mixing stuff up is more likely the case.

So please continue showing all these terrible engineering issues

 

I didn't know Toyota didn't assemble their own vehicles....interesting.

 

Obviously the person works for Toyota. Whatever happened it was caught very quick. Showing once again Toyotas quality. Had this of been GM this number would of been in the thousands. All I'm saying is people are human and errors are gonna be made. However this is not a design error. Simply a mixup in the assembly line

Reminds me of the Chevy sonics that someone forgot to install the rear inner brake pads. I think there was a few thousand of them that went unnoticed. Crazy since they drive them out of the plant. Should of noticed the first one, not the 4217 one

 

300 trucks is equal to one 8 hour shift of a bolt beng delivered to factory with a wrong part number. They are making 800+ A Day.
So, yeah. Isolated incident.

 

Low oil PRESSURE of low oil LEVEL??? Those are two completely different things. I think you had a low oil level go off like everyone else.

 

I doubt he even has a 3rd gen, just scrolling through the threads to try and bash the new trucks. he's simply a troll

 

Ok so this thread got started about my truck turning over but not cranking. My truck is now fixed and running like new. The problem was that I pulled a radio fuse to hook up a compressor and that made my ecu reset. When I plugged the fuse back in with the compressor wire attached it pushed the fuse pin out of the way so there was no connection and the ecu could not reset so that's y it would not start up. All good now. So don't go pulling fuses to hook up amps, lights, ect.

 

yes, you should disconnect the battery to install electrical products. you should not pull fuses and hope the power isn't on in that circuit

 

Wow so all the people talking crap because they thought Toyota made a POS truck...

 

I've never had an issue while doing the same shit with my old 2011 tacoma, chevy, gmc, or a Jeep Wrangler. Don't know y it would be wrong this time.

 

And yes there are other people having issues with the newer models. But that's nothing new. It's like that with every new model in every brand. There are always bugs and glitches to be worked out.

 

All I was doing is trying to prevent others from making the same mistake and now I'm getting blasted? Wtf.

 

No I didn't mean anything against you. I just get sick of the few trolls on here who do everything in there power to try to bad mouth these new trucks, when in reality they haven't had any "real" problems. Sure there are always going to be a few isolated incidents and a few duds so to speak, but that normal with any manufacture. While we may not know for a long time how dependable and the true quality of these trucks, right now they seem on par for the quality that Toyota has been know for.

With the push button start are you able to insert the key if needed to start i.e. If the key battery dies?
Reason I ask is I know on BMW and MB that with their keyless start you can still instert key to start.
I ordered my Tacoma with keyless start thinking I can still insert key if needed.
