Your fuel injectors are probably full of crap and the fuel system could use a good cleaning.[/QUOTE]

How would I go about cleansing my fuel system?

Would the injector screens be plugged if it will fire with starting fluid?

You are by-passing the injectors by spraying “fuel or starting fluid” through the intake.

    Yes, they could be plugged.

I agree 100% but you missed one aspect in that most of the people that commit that type of crime have no money to get even if a lawsuit is won.

Personally I would take the entire fuel system apart and clean everything. I wouldn't ever run it again until I finished cleaning everything.

Dumb question....2 fuel lines, one bigger than the other, are they both supposed to have fuel going to the engine or is one a return line?

Honestly I don’t know what all would need to be removed and cleaned or replaced.
But I’ll do my best to give you some of components you may need to look at,

    1. Fuel Tank - You have done this
    2. Fuel Pump and Filter - You have done this
    3. Fuel Regulator
    4. Injectors
    5. Possibly the Dampener Valve

I have included instructions on The LCE Supercharger installation.
It should help you get to the injectors if you to remove them.
I honestly have no idea how you would clean them.

Maybe some of the guys running boost.
    Like @Torspd will know?

Hopefully you won’t have to tear much apart to get your truck fixed.
Sorry man, I do feel for you.
I hope to never have to go through what you are

That is a fallacy. Sugar does not actually cause any damage, it gets screened out on the fuel filter. Ask me how I know ...

Parked my fuel injected honda 4 wheeler in the bush. Some idiots didn't like me hunting near them so they dumped a handful of sugar in the tank. When I returned I noticed the cap was off, and saw white granules on the rim. Drove home like that, about 10-15 km, with no issues. At home I had to lift the fuel pump from the tank and clean and replace the filter. Did it within a day or two of the incident. So in a day or two the sugar still looked like a wet clump of sugar. It did not dissolve, it all accumulated in the filter. After replacing the filter, everything continued to run normally. It's been probably close to 10 years and the bike still runs well, no further issues.

In OP's case, I think he still has a physical blockage somewhere, caused by the sugar.

If you had the ability to connect a pump, externally to the tank, you could test and see if the rest of the system (injectors) are working fine.

If you never replaced the pump, then the filter would have a lot (unknown and relative) of sugar contamination in it. As it is a whole unit. Unless you drop in an aftermarket kit, like from URDusa.com. With an external fuel filter.

Do you have any check engine lights?

You have a fuel feed line and a return line.

Can you keep it idling with starting fluid/ether fluid?

If you want to have your injectors cleaned, there are places that have injector cleaning equipment. First you should rule out if they are the source of the issue. Just like the pump/filter.

If you can attached a fuel pressure gauge inline, that will be a huge help.

There is no GOOD way to clean a fuel injector. They are assembled and welded together with a 1 micron screen filter inside.

You could get lucky and have them back flushed with the right equipment and you may get lucky. For the price I would replace them.

If they have sugar inside it isn't worth the risk of having an injector stick open and flood a cylinder while parked then hydro-lock the engine and bent a rod or break a piston when you try and start it.

UPDATE... I have traced strong fuel pressure clear up to the fuel rail. No fuel is flowing through the injectors at all. Also checked that the injectors were getting power with a test light and they are getting power but can't say if it's sufficient voltage or if that matters, so long as they're getting power? Process of elimination would tell me that the injectors are in fact plugged. What is still weired to me is that I could simultaneously loose all 6 injectors at the same time? Seems odd. But again it is a brand new pump that could have picked up something foreign from the tank that didn't get washed out when I cleaned the sugar out 3 months ago?

I think the ECM controls the ground for the injectors.
That could possibly cause you to loose all injectors at once.
Let’s hope not, maybe someone with a bit more knowledge than me can help you figure out how to test the ECM - Injector Circuit.

I do agree, all six at once would be strange.
But not unheard of with fuel contamination.
I would think you would have experienced other problems before it quit all at once?

Are you getting fuel to the injector rail?

Before you buy new injectors, I would plug in a noid light.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
@Bryrohr - I read through, but could not find anywhere stating that you checked all the fuses related to the fuel system. Sounds novice, but I've seen more head-scratching problems that came down to a blown fuse.

Check all the Fuses related to your EFI, ECU, Fuel Pump, Ignition etc.
    • 20-Amp EFI Main
    • 10-Amp EFI
    • EFI Main
    • 7.5-Amp ECU-B
    • FUEL PMP
    • etc...
Check the fuse panel in the cab as well.

OP, the injectors are expensive but there is a place in Colo. that specializes in cleaning them and will replace the micro filters and provide all new O rings for the fuel rail. It cost me about $120 for all 6 all in and as I recall he does not charge if any can not be brought back to specs. I had a bad injector on a low mile engine (28k mi., junk inside). Cleaning the others and replacing that one corrected a LTFT issue I was having and smoothed up the idle. Well worth the cost IMHO. If interested I can post the web site.

Yes they are full of sugar.................................... All six. Better stuck closed than stuck open. You were lucky.
