I made a post a few days ago on why I wouldn't be getting fuel. That after changing everything and still not getting fuel it just resolved itself. Now I'm not getting anything at all. No spark no fuel it just cranks. When the switch is in the on position without trying to start the truck, I don't even have a check engine light. I replaced all the relays and it started it once ran for 30 seconds and died. I have replaced all relays again and moved them around, still nothing. When the engine light comes on prior to starting it will start but run for however long it wants to. I used a multi miter and the switch is getting power flow. Everything works but the engine light doesn't come on like it should. Has anyone else had this issue?

I’ve heard of people having similar issues which ended up being the chip key. I think the immobilizer light should be not flashing with the key in and in the on position. If you have a spare key give it a try. If you have a obd reader see what comes up.

I have put an obd reader to it and it can't connect with the truck. I'm going to call my local Toyota dealership and see how much a new programed key is. I will look up and see where the immobilizer should be and look to see if that light is on.

You replaced ALL the relays? Twice?

My bet is on a blown fuse somewhere. Dont rely solely on a visual check, Ive seen that fool people before. You should test for continuity between the blades of the fuse to know its good

Fuses was checked with a multi meter as well, and yes I replaced them twice along with moving them around. I just contacted my local Toyota dealership and my truck didn't come with the immobilizer so that is ruled out. I'm starting to lean towards it being the ecm or a short in the wiring harness.

I can post a diagram if you tell me what engine you have.

Oh yea srry I didn't realize, anyway looking at the diagram the EFI No2 fuse get's power from the EFI Relay which is controlled by the PCM so you need to see if that relay is turning on or not.

Need to check all power and grounds at the PCM. If the MIL does not come ON with key ON, either the computer is the faulty or the power or ground supplies are. You can check a 5 volt reference line at any of the sensors with the key ON to make it easier. 5 volts present - Power and grounds to the PCM are probably good. No 5 volt - Bad PCM or power and ground issue.

This is from a thread awhile back that we did alot of troubleshooting on an 08 but the wiring should be the same, unfortunately the OP hasn't returned with a response to if it was the PCM or not.

The ECU is now communicating with everything, I still don't know what is causing it. The truck is now running again. No codes showing. My co worker found a thread that said another guy had the same issue and it was a lose fuse (getting poor connection). I used a test light to make sure the fuses had current through them, had one that moved just a little and the engine light came on and it started. I'm hoping that it is a poor connection to a fuse because when I bought the truck who ever put the fog lights on wrapped the power wire around one of the ignition fuses.

That would be a good possibility or a loose connection under the fuse box.

After he mentioned that, I test lighted the inside fuses felt one move just a little bit and it started. I'm going to see if I can find another fuse box and test that thought.

Did you pull that fuse out and see what it looked like?

Yeah multiple times, visually checking it, this last 3 days. I could have not pushed it in far enough. But I did remove the wiring he had wrapped up around them when I bought it. First time it done it was the next afternoon after I had removed the wires. I'm a dumb ass for not making sure the fuses was full seated.

Well in my case it was only getting air. Still not sure if it is completely fixed or not.

Check fuel pressure. If no fuel pressure then check fuel pump fuse. If fuse is ok then possible bad fuel pump. To check for spark - Remove a coil and plug in a spark plug and ground it to the engine somewhere. Have a buddy crank it over and see if it's arcing. If it's not then go back to your fuse panel and check IGN fuses . If the fuses are ok then look at your crank sensor.
