I recently purchased a 1998 2.4l Tacoma, from a dude on the marketplace. My drive back home was 3 hours and the car had no problems. One day I took it to work and did a couple of pulls and my battery shifted its position stripping my ground to my battery. Had a friend pull the taco home and did the whole terminals again, car started but died immediately. Tried again but it just kept cranking too long, tried to jumpstart it but that didn’t work either. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.!

Check above post this was a real fix for me! It’s a random thing that I’ve heard of and also had a problem with on my 90 pre-taco pickups except on the older ones it was the relay under the drivers side dash. My Tacoma V-6 would randomly do this for years and got really bad the other day. It’s fixed now, mine was the efi relay under the hood in the fuse box next to the fuses, just swap both of the same style relay and make sure they have the same part # to be safe, works a treat!

Check your electronic fuel injection (EFI) fuses. Those will go out usually when there is a mass voltage anomaly like a short.

Honda Accords of the '90s were known to just have the main relay dry out and short in high heat areas of the country, weird stuff happens.

Since you had trouble around the battery of course start there but a fuel pump goes out quick lots of times also.
