Hello group A quick inquiry i have a 1995 tacoma 3.4 litre with a crank no start situation. My CPK showed 0 ohms on testing the new one I purchased with PC86 denso original TMC Made in Japan designation on box only reads 1100 ohms my Haynes manual and internet source states the crankshaft position sensor should read 1630 to 2740 ohms. Does this mean the sensor is defective or more likely the wrong one. I reside in Costa Rica and am not entirely confident in purchases here. any help would be appreciated.

That is out of range on the resistance. 2 options: try it or get another one.

There is a Toyota dealer in San Diego, Costa Rica. In Cabo, BCS, Mexico it takes maybe a week for me to get parts from the dealer there.

Per 95 FSM resistance when cold 1630-2740 ohm when hot 2065-3225. Sounds like a bad sensor. It does occasionally happen that new parts are defective.

As for the wrong one. you could compare it to the one you have installed. good luck.
