Yeah do let us know. But geez you mention regular mileage of 13! Even that's horrible.

You keep saying you're running offroad. What kind of terrain are you running it on?

    On a regular driving day:

    What are you hauling?
    Current weather conditions?
    Mods - Camper shell?
    1st, 2nd, 3rd.. owner?
    Mileage?

Too many things to diagnose over the internet but that mileage does not sound right. I run my truck out in the desert quite hard and I'll avg 12 mpg and that's with a heavy foot.

Original owner, always have tools, fire ext, parts etc, about 300lbs worth. It has rained for about 4 mths straight with only a couple of warm sunny days. it has the leveling kit on it and thats it.

I will have some answers next friday when I take it in.

That's really bad mileage. There is something wrong for only carrying 300lbs and soggy ground. Unless you drive through mud that you sink a foot into the ground all the time.

My 1st Gen Tacoma lost its original MAF sensor a couple months ago. Replaced it and my MPG improved by 15-20%. Keep in mind, though, prior to it failing I was getting 17-18 around town and this is a 4-cylinder 2.4L engine. Now I'm getting about 21-22 MPG. You definitely should not rush off and replace the MAF sensor.

I really hate to say this because it will offend a lot of people. Most of the MPG complaints on this board are caused by what you see in the mirror. Stop flooring the gas pedal or driving 80 MPH to look and feel cool. I'll take it a step further. Stop lifting your trucks and replacing the stock wheels to fit in.

You won't win over any chicks by the way your truck looks. At least none worth keeping. In the end you'll flush thousands of $$$ down the toilet and have nothing left to show for it.

I recently checked my highway mileage with my new ultragauge and got 26.1 mpg. I think thats pretty good for a 4,000 lb truck. The best I ever got on my Dakota with the 4.7L V8 was 20 mpg. The taco also gets much better mpg in the city than the Dakota.

The same thing can be said about anything. How many people need a motorcycle, yet they buy and customize them to their own liking. Chrome, exhaust, re-gearing, most will never see a track or drag strip. It's about taking something everyone has, and making yours different, or the same as one you really liked.

Money does you no good when your in a box under ground, or ashes on a top of a fireplace. With that said, make sure you have a savings, but enjoy it too!

That is very true for most. I would look like an ass ripping around like a sixteen year old - no offence to you young people -But i do not floor it, i got all day to get where i gotta go and the lift is for function not looks.

the sad fact is that things go wrong. I could not beat on a ford like i have to this truck. Ill just get it fixed and move on.

Just FYI don't enter total price in fuelly only per gallon. You have a $33.21 per gallon resulting in 11 fuel-ups costing over $3k.

    You should do the following;

    1. unload all the tools out of the truck (wash it too, clean cars have less drag)
    2. go to a gas station near the freeway
    3. fill up tank (Get receipt)
    4. drive 60 miles one way at the speed limit or 2000 RPM range. (without pulling over)
    5. drive 60 miles back to the same gas station you filled up at in step 3 while keeping the rpms in the 2000 range. (without pulling over)
    6. fill tank back up (Get receipt again)
    7. Calculate your mileage

if you are still getting "crap ass mileage" after that, take the truck directly to the dealership with receipts in hand and tell them to figure out what the problem is and fix it........
