decided to change my fluids, since they never have been changed. Just did the rear diff today. Called for 3 quarts of 75-90. I had purchased fluids for the tranny and transfer case. I accidently used a quart of the Syn I had bought for the tranny. Will there be any harm in the rear mixing them together. Or should I drain it and start over? Will do the front diff tomorrow if I can break loose the drain plug. I must have spent 4-5 hrs on the rear. Plugs are really hard to get off after 75K miles!!! 2010 Taco TRD 6 sp manual (very hard to find)

You'll be fine. Gear oil is gear oil - no adverse reaction can occur.

In fact - you may have done yourself a favor. The gear oil you bought is probably GL-5. The 6MT really prefers GL-4. Lots of people, myself included, like the Redline MT-90 for the transmission.

You just used a synthetic blend is all ;-) I dont think you will have any issue.

For the plugs I found if you spray on PB blaster on prior and let it sit a good 20 min then use a little heat from a small propane torch they come out like a champ!

I always use Telfon tape on my drain and fill plugs. I've never had trouble getting them out. I think it works better than anti seize.

And, you don't have to torque the crap out of them. The tape adds a little more friction so they won't vibrate out if they're not blue torque tight. Your mileage may vary.....

Probably not a bad idea...I used a dab of blue TV sealant on the threads then tightened them....I imagine yours has a similar effect, but you dont have to scrub the threads with a brass brush when you do your changes!
