I think you will be fine. right after startup and the oil pressure immediately builds, that extra 1/2+ quart is circulated and the pan level drops. Once you hammer on the throttle, even more is pulled out of the pan and circulated, thus the level drops again, and you would be suprised at just how low it does drop.

It looks like a Mixmaster set on high inside there once stuff starts rotating.

The only problem would be right at startup and the crankshaft is banging the oil pool in the pan and splashing extra up on the cylinder walls,,but I don't know if that would even happen, just depends on the pan design and how low the crank sits in the block in relation to the proper oil level.

FWIW, the 99 3RZ's take exactly 5 quarts for a perfect mark on the stick.

I'm with Tacomaman06. Replace the oil filter with a tall version. The Amsoil part number is 034 (e034, something like that). I run my '06 a little more than the top of the dipstick. I have never seen froth on the dipstick (crank journals stirring the oil, etc.) I cannot get away with that in my wife's 2001 Passat however. I smell oil burning any time I fill the oil to the top mark of the dipstick.

I always ran 6qt in mine with tall filter and ensure complete drain each time. Never had an issue. Now one time I had a shop change my oil and they changed filter, added 5.5qt, did not check oil level, and did not drain old oil. It ran rough a short time before I figured out the cause. Long story short it did not cause any serious damage in the short term when this happend and I changed my own oil ever since or watch while someone else does it.

Never had an issue with overfilling by 1/2 quart (pint). The engine allows for that variation in volume. That volume puts the oil level at the top of the dipstick full mark in our trucks. (after the engine has been run with a new oil filter installed with oil change)

And to eliminate any question of quality: use an OEM oil filter

don't waste it. it is good oil. great for topping off when you start to go low. or use it in your lawn mower. just because it ran for a few hunderd miles doesn;t mean it is bad.
