Rivian or bust dude. I really respect you in so many ways but the sale of what may well be the most reliable pickup for what appears to be a less reliable and twice as expensive pickup, while it tickles my fancy in many ways, it never really squared with your value conscious past. I’d pay $80k for a super high quality vehicle but I would need a world of convincing that Jeep meets that standard.

The Rivian was already ordered before the Gladiator blew up. Part of me thinks this was the Gladiator’s retaliation for doing so.

Man that is an unfortunate turn of events.. Any ideas if it was maybe caused by the supercharger? I may be considering a gladiator with the magnuson kit and now you got me worried lol

Difficult to see, but highest point of evidence for the oil loss is on the underside of the driver exhaust manifold. Lots of oil everywhere. Looks to confirm my head gasket theory.

What is strange though, is there were massive clouds of steam/smoke. I thought for sure the coolant level would be low, but it is unchanged.

Hard to rule out the Supercharger as a culprit with that kind of head gasket failure.

I think it may be a freak accident seeing as there is a lot of these trucks supercharged by magnuson and ripp. Tough break that it had to happen to you, I was enjoying the progress on this build :(

Seen today at the local grocery store.

Equipped with the off road package running 34s with full under armor skids. It has pneumatic suspension to increase ride height to 15" ground clearance in off road mode, aka 1.4" more clearance than my 1" lifted Gladiator on 37s.

Interesting pass through aero feature in the front wheel well, presumably to bleed off the high pressure zone at the rear of the wheel well to reduce drag.

34s stock with the off road package, or 33s stock otherwise. With the pneumatic suspension, it will have more ground clearance and way better break-over than my 37s anyway.

I hope you had a reservation before they jacked up the prices and then went back to “honor” the reservation price. With their “justifications”, I’m not sure they will still be a business if all or most of the reservation holders get their initial promised price.

Interesting numbers but I’m pretty sure you’re joking around talking about off road capabilities with that Rivian?!?!?!?

They are actually quite capable. There are many youboob videos of them tackling all sorts of obstacles.
