34" A/T tires, more clearance than a Gladiator, and torque for days, why wouldn't it be?

Sounds like I should have a look at the videos!

Flex will be near zero once riding at the elevated height will it not? My thought is all of the vehicles with adjustable ride height have a total range of travel that ends up reducing down travel. If not in this case that’s a big step ahead.

Video of RTI tests in both All Purpose mode and Off Road elevated mode. Both All Purpose and Off Road modes out-score the Gladiator Mojave on RTI. There is some minor flex loss in elevated mode, but not as much as you would think. The hydraulic 'swaybar' sway control is pretty slick.

There are comparisons in to the ZR2 in the video as well. :)

I'm looking forward to an R1T thread. Not too soon to start it. The waiting is the best part, right?

My Mojave should be arriving soon. I will miss the ZR2’s fantastic driving characteristics but will not miss the far to frequent dealership visits due to diesel issues.

Same. Id jump on one in a heartbeat if the cost was about 50-60% of what it is (...was).

Ineos Grenadier has my attention, but not looking forward to a car payment again anytime soon.

There will be one. But seems premature before having an exact delivery date.

Had a look at the Edmunds RTI video and it is certainly impressive in stock form for a new high tech IFS truck! As I suspected the fancy modes limit travel, even though it 'looks' more like an off-road truck sitting higher the performance suffers. The ultra slick bottom side is awesome when thinking about aerodynamics and sliding over things on the trail. For most ppl that will putt around forest service roads and go camping/overlanding it seems fantastic. For those that want to actually hit harder trails I will have to wait and see what the market does.

I have to assume you've seen the TFL video with the Rivian vs the Ram TRX?!?!?!

If I could have this as a DD and a JLU setup for trails....

High mode certainly limits max flex, just like any vehicle that uses the technology including the Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX, Grand Cherokee, and Land Rovers. It isn't about 'looks', there are times when additional ground clearance is more beneficial than additional flex, fortunately you can programmatically choose. Obviously both would be best off-road, but that leads to compromises for on-road which is why so many high end brands have developed these adjustable systems.

Stock Rivian on Hells Gate. Quad motor means no need for diffs, traction control, LSDs, lockers, while also providing instant torque.

By no means saying the truck is the most ultimate off roader, but it is more than capable of holding its own. Especially against anything a Tacoma is going to bring to the table.

Quad motors really opens up some interesting possibilities in my book.

Quad motor makes so many traditional technologies completely obsolete.

Had the Gladiator towed to the dealer service site today, which is at a different location than the dealership. Very low confidence after seeing the maintenance center. I wish I could take it to Toyota. They are supposed to look at it tomorrow. Signs in the customer service area stated they will not work on modified vehicles. I didn't say anything.

Also, the new Rivian dealer was a block away. So.

    The color I ordered.

    Had to check it out.

The truck has many interesting aero features. The rear of the roof/spoiler has a pass through. This keeps a traditional looking profile while the slope angle looks like it would reduce drag in a vehicle. It is unclear on how this would affect the recirculating air in the bed body if not using a tonneau cover. There is also a flow reattachment point to the top of the tailgate from the roof line, I'm curious how this aero feature affects that reattachment.

I've previously posted the high pressure vents at the rear of the front wheel well. I hadn't noticed these front vents on the front bumper.

While looking at this, I noticed the fogs are a unique dual projector design. Hmm. And also the truck is equipped with reflector based cornering lights. Rivians also feature rear fogs.

Headlights, dual projector highs and dual projector lows.

The rear tailgate is unique and designed to extend the bed more than a standard tailgate. The bed is shorter at 4.5' vs more typical 5' bed. But to compensate, the tailgate is 30" long.

Tailgate as with almost everything is powered drop

Of course the displays need dark mode.

The tunnel, the air tool kit is stored inside the tunnel door for the on board air. The door itself has a door to hold the gear.

I tinkered with plenty on the truck. Tried out high mode, put the truck into different height settings. But test drives are invite only and have to be pre-scheduled. Invites are by geographic area for pre-order holders. So I'm looking forward to testing this out soon. Interestingly there is no traditional glovebox. Both front seats have a forward facing under seat storage box that is similar to a glove box. Lots of innovative storage on the truck. This really makes the Jeep look like it is from the stone ages.

I am headed to a Rivian dealership today. I had to place an order just to test drive… I still don’t like that type of auto sales practice. Thankfully it’s fully refundable if the truck isn’t to my liking.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I think that's what us professionals in "the biz" would call "filtering out seas of losers for exclusivity, fun and profit".

I just see it as an annoyance and unnecessary.

Likely only one demo truck at the dealer and a multi-year massive list of interested parties, as is the case at the local dealer. I don't think it will remain that way, but when demand vastly outstrips available supply some measures need to be employed to get the product in the hands of serious buyers. Agreed it is an annoyance, but early adopters typically are faced with multiple annoyances.
