I have not tried the CC yet, but if I ever need it I want it to work.

Hopefully it’s just a simple software update but we will see as more people report this issue and get Toyota to acknowledge the issue.

Any chance you have an OBD reader? I am curious to see just about much throttle a 2016-2019 is allowed to apply.

Tried out my CC today. Truck has less then 600 miles. Attempted a few different experiments.

    1. With CC engaged, attempted to climb somewhat wet grassy hill in the shade. The hill was approximately 50 ft high at 5% grade (best guess)
    2. With CC engaged, attempted to descend the same 50 ft high grassy hill.
    3. With CC engaged, attempted to climb the same hill at approximately a 45 degree angle.
    4. With CC engaged, attempted to descend the same hill at approximately a 45 degree angle.
    5. With CC engaged placed 4 x 4 blocks in front of all 4 tires.

All of the experiments resulted in the truck successfully traversing all obstacles.

Sucks for the people with the 2020’s with CC problems, but my 2020 OR seems to be functioning correctly. Maybe this is just a Pro problem?

No, sorry I don't have a OBD reader. All I can offer is this, today on the final trial, the truck had to travel over staggered tall sets of blocks in front of all 4 tires. The computer increased the engine rpms significantly to get over all 4 blocks. Like a dummy I failed to watch the tach so I don't know how high the rpms were exactly but by sound I would say roughly 2000-2500 rpm.

At the hunt club there is a steep gravel hill one must go up to get to the east side of the property. I have for laughs and grins used cc on this hill a couple of times. The truck will basically idle up to the hill then apply throttle on it's own to maintain speed and then taper off back to idle once the truck gets over the crest of the hill. Once again I've never bothered to look at the tach but it will increase rpms significantly to go up the hill.

The next time I go to the club I'll see how high the rpms are going up the hill.

So a 2020 that will climb over 4x4's on crawl control. Happen to know the build date and location?

Interesting, mine flashes, and the owners manual has this "Crawl Control on/off switch - The Crawl Control indicator comes on and the slip indicator flashes when operating."

I guess I cannot say for certain if it was flashing or not. I wasn’t exactly looking at the dash while I was doing this. I will check again tomorrow and verify if it was or wasn’t.

Crawl control is not a gimmick. And it’s far from worthless. I don’t need it to make up for experience, I need it to make up for a front locker which is does a damn good job at. My guess is that you must either not get your truck in situations where you need it and or you yourself don’t know how to use it.

Still doesn’t work going uphill. It will successfully pulse the brakes on a crawl downhill but not give throttle crawling up.

Very odd, although this pretty much rules out it being a hardware issue which is encouraging.
