The curb imitates a big ole rock or boulder, and seems to be a defacto benchmark for testing CC in this thread.

    Yes just like BigwhiteTRD said

"we have a system that will attempt to propel the truck up a 30+ deg slope, driving all 4 wheels, hell bent on pulverizing a bus full of orphans or something."

in my buddies 2017 it really stops at nothing and just keeps climbing no matter what it hits.

If you are having this issue please call Toyota Complaints: 800-331-4331 and report it. It is the only way we can get this fixed by Toyota hearing from all of us. My dad and I both called them today. Please report it so we can get traction on this.

I'm surprised there's no TSBs on it yet.

I would agree with you except that in my case my dealer is trying to tell me all of us don't understand how Crawl Control works and that throttle input is needed from the driver even though all of Toyota's documentation states that no throttle input is needed and the computer is automatically modulating the throttle for us. My dealer also tried telling me CC is for downhill only. So obviously my dealer never made a case with Toyota Corporate. I know other users have had similar experiences which is why we need everyone to just start calling the Complaint line I posted earlier.

On my '16, you had to tap the throttle slightly to turn it on after setting the controls 1st. Even said so in the manual.

Got a pic of the manual that says that you need to tap the throttle?

I may be giving Toyota more chances then I should, but I test drove two Tacomas on the lot last month and neither crawl controls worked at all. They told me they had more coming in so today six weeks later I went in and the first one I tried the crawl control worked perfectly. It hopped the curb and went up and over this very steep rocky incline with no issues and no driver inputs, so I bought it. It's very weird how hit or miss it is, this one was made in Texas I didn't look at the other two but I wonder if its the Mexico plant.

Where in Utah are you and what dealer did you buy from? After calling Toyota Complaints like I posted earlier I have to go to Karl Malone Toyota again so they can see it not work again for the third time and they’ll probably tell me again that it is working. So if your dealer was better and it’s in the SLC valley then maybe I’ll tell corporate I want to deal with your people instead of Malone.

I got it at Tony Divino in Ogden, I had no problems.

Honestly I’d rather have it to where you have to give a little throttle.

Maybe fuel pump recall related? Something to do with new fuel pump recalibration.

No, cuz I sold that POS. I think the manual was online or a CD if I remember correctly. Old guy, 4 years ago, bad memory, you get the idea.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I finally found a good place to try this. Found an area with some dirt on one side below a curb. The curb was actually significantly higher than a typical curb due to erosion on the dirt side. I put it in 4lo and went to the edge of the curb and fired up CC on low. It crawled over no problem I was super impressed and surprised based on what I've read in this thread. So while my truck did stop pulling me up a very steep incline after it got nearly to the top on its own, it has no problem passing the curb test.

Not sure what that means exactly, but I'm going to go ahead and consider my CC as working as intended on my 2020.

30B97FE1-A264-4E78-89BD-6C6F9C2F4B6B.jpg I have been driving Tacoma’s since 2016. Started with a 13 sport, someone rear ended me. Hot a 17 or dclb. Loved it. Traded it in in April 20 for a 2020 or dcsb with premium audio and leather seats. Yes there is a problem with the cc. I’m taking it in on Monday morning. I called the 800 number you guys provided and they actually called the dealership and scheduled the appointment. I know for a fact it isn’t working properly and even knew about all the shit they give us at the dealership about it has to learn your driving habits. I’m in my truck all day long from 6am till 7pm. My 17 had no issues whatsoever. This truck will not function properly. I chose Tacoma or because of the crawl feature. It literally can go just about everywhere I need it too. 5’ deep sand, loose rock, mud even up and down 3/1 slopes and yes 2/1 slopes. This truck won’t crawl over a 6” curb unless I give it some gas. I’ve even put gotten out of my truck and walked beside it while it was crawling up a slope. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon. 30B97FE1-A264-4E78-89BD-6C6F9C2F4B6B.jpg
