My neighbor has a Pro and his Brother n law bought a 2020 Off Road. His CC does the same thing and he just clicked over 4k miles. They did the 5100s, trd pro sema wheels and larger tires. He has to go back to his factory wheels and tires before the dealership will fix his issue. I think its a computer issue.

Curious if anyone had gotten word form the stealership on what the issue is... My 17 will let you crawl in ANY condition at any speed.... Doesn't make sense why toyota would dumb it down for 2020

Anyone have news on this issue ?

I have a 2020 TRD Off Road with this issue, as soon as the vehicle is met with any resistance the CC just stops.
The first time i noticed it was driving through deep snow. Flat surface CC engaged it would start moving then would just stop and eventually disable it's self. I though I was doing something wrong so I combed through the manual and found nothing pertaining. I have now tried on multiple slopes and surfaces an still it just stops and eventually disables.

I tested my 2020's CC over the weekend. I had it up to roughly 20 deg. pitch and 10 deg. roll combined without issue at varying speed settings. It was built in September 2019.

I don’t know if any tool is replaceable but I will say that I used CC going up waterfall off of Golden Spike in Moab where all other vehicles were winched..

In fact CC has pulled me through a few obstacles that would otherwise needed winching.

I’ve actually never had to use my MaxxTrax so as far as I’m concerned they have been replaced.

something is seriously wrong here... I know this will largely go unnoticed by the mallcrawl pop, they tend to be more vocal about the slightest noise or discoloration with their vehicles

Maybe this coronavirus can be transferred to trucks. Body aches are one of the minor symptoms and that's detrimental to Toyota's Crawl Control.

Interesting: sounds like a change somewhere in the 2020s, hopefully the fix is as easy as an update.

Not sure that it was an intentional change. Seems like the 2020's are hit and miss with it working. Mine and another that was on the lot at the same time didn't work, while another that was built around the same time does. Perhaps a Texas vs Mexico build issue?
I haven't pursued it with my dealer yet. The COVID times plus not having a huge desire to let them touch my truck have me dragging my feet.

My truck is at the dealer for round 2 of repair.

drove a 2019 pro and it went right up the hill.

Dealer: We could not reproduce the problem
You: Did you try a hill?
    Dealer: Yes
    You: Where, which one?
Dealer: A big one (eyes briefly dart to the parking lot speed bump)

My dealer has a steep hill, so it is easily replicated.

Just read this thread. I used crawl control the other day to pull my boat and trailer up a grassy knoll off the lake shoreline. Worked great. In 2wd the driver side rear wheel was spinning badly. Pulled that 2k lb. load like it wasn't there.

I'm just amazed how slick this 4wd system activates compared to roughness my 01 tundra had. Follow the manual's directions, and this tacoma engages in those features effortlessly.

hmmm I'm going to watch this close. Havent had need of the CC system yet but I'd definitely like to know it'll work if/when I need it since they seem to love advertising it and well...it should work for everyone and not just some of us
