15 miles down padre island national seashore I decided get my self stuck and see if the craw control could get me out. Sand was moist so it took a bit to get stuck. Engaged the CC rear diff locked slowest speed setting and 15min later still not out. So I disengage and put it in drive and bam a little throttle and I'm out. Short story don't depend on the CC it will not alaways get you out of the hole your in. Didn't get to take pictures of me stuck.image.jpgimage.jpg

I'm glad to see someone actually try this for once instead of just bash on it. And nice truck!

Correct me if i'm wrong here, but wouldn't you not want to engage the rear locker if you're using crawl control?

And just curious, did you still have the rear locker on when you took it outta crawl control?

I bet different tires would change the outcome! Picking up new shoes for my Taco tomorrow. I REAL tired of sliding around in the rain... sheesh. The stock tires on my TRD Sport are really really bad in the rain, add in some leaves on a wet road, might was well be ice.

Nice truck and good luck with it. Man I'm jealous. that's some mighty fine beach there, I'd be setting up a tent and getting out my fishing rod! Fish tacos for breakfast anyone? Yeah buddy

It was not gong anywhere with it off so I figured it wouldn't hurt. And yes I did keep it engaged when I turned off the CC

I do believe a ko2 would of had a better out come. And if the sand was not as wet I think it would of helped the tires did pack with sand and not clean out with the slow speed of CC. So once I got some good tire spin they cleaned out and got some traction.

What setting did you have CC on? I think the book says 4 or 5 for sand.

Actually, KO2 do better than stock tires in every terrain EXCEPT sand. Stock tires are better, bald if possible. But at the end of the day, tire pressure is the most important thing.

PINS is where I camp and fish also. How did the stock wranglers perform in the sand and did you deflate them any? I wonder how strong they are since there's so many booby traps at PINS that can destroy a tire. Nice truck.

For the most part they did good didn't air them down at all. Didn't want to risk tearing them up. PINS has lots of debris you never know what is out there?
