So I go have some BBQ and Beer at Rocky Mountain Brewery here in town and afterward we decide to head to 4 wheel parts to see what their prices were on some new tires.

Not even a mile from the brewery I notice the truck is a bit squishy in the handling and look down at my low tire light is on. I move my mirror to check out the tire and it seems ok, check the psi in the cab and it's at 5. So I pull over and proceed to change my tire and notice a small piece of metal in the tire. No big deal.

    IMG_2901.jpg

So I swap tires, put the spare on and drive home.

I get home and begin working on the tire and I noticed this piece of metal seemed endless and didnt want to come out. After a few minutes of work I pull this son of a bitch out!

    IMG_2902.jpg

Craziest thing I have ever pulled out of a tire.

Whats that crazies thing you have seen?

Nothing, because I'm lucky enough to have never punctured a tire. Now I bet it'll happen to me this week!

Can't tell what it is from the picture, have you identified what it is?

Is it the angle of the camera or is your tire wear really fucked up? That top pic looks terrible.

My driver rear tire went flat with a decking nail in it, repaired it. No my passenger rear went flat with this thing, unrepairable. I never had a flat until these two and they happened in a couple months from each-other. Something keeps telling me I need new tires.

I'm not entirely sure what it is, looks like some kind of aluminum retaining pin for something.

It's the camera angle, they are all even

You had to hit that at just the perfect angle. Crazy how that shit happens. Sorry about the loss of the tire.

Sounds like a perfect excuse for some big lug tires. More tread is more safe against stuff like this. I'm half kidding, half actually wondering if it would maybe make a difference against punctures.

Funny enough the tires I went to go price out were Maxxis Trepadors 35x12.50-16, so it looks like I will be getting them sooner than expected

A rattlesnake fang. It didn't puncture the tire but was just stuck in the sidewall. I guess I pissed him off when I passed by...:tumbleweed:

Not my tire but I helped my boss pull a quarter out of his tire one time. It was standing on edge.
He was thinking someone put it there so that when he pulled out it would get wedged in the tire.

Beater car in front of me started smoking and spewing oil so I changed lanes to avoid them. 1/4 mile down the road I noticed I was running flat. Pulled the wheel off, and pulled one of the beater car’s engine rods out of my tire. He threw a rod, and my tire picked it up

oddly enough, I had a nearly identical piece of metal come out of my tire recently as the OP did. Thankfully it happened as I was pulling into the work parking lot. Muscled that crap out, repaired the thing, and the tire has been fine since. Crappy part about the whole thing, the tires were maybe a month old when it happened.
