I remember seeing an article on expedition portal about getting a flat after running over the pointy end of a loose AK round, casing and all.

Not a tire puncture, but was passing by old Astroworld and they were working on the road. Hit something, banged pretty hard under the floor, but didn't drive bad so kept going - until I saw my once full tank of gas drop past halfway! Apparently hit something that opened a huge gash in the gas tank! Glad I didn't look in the rearview and see a wall of flames chasing me down the road!

In the Spring of 17 I replaced a set of BFG KO2s and, within a hundred feet of driving off the dealer's property, heard a loud bang and the sound of escaping air. I'd run over a 12" piece of rebar that likely came from a construction project across the street and it punctured the left rear dead center. Returned to the dealer and they said it wouldn't be covered since I'd declined their road hazard option. I called BFG and, within five minutes, their rep told the dealer to mount my spare, install a new KO2 that would be sent out for next day delivery and to send them a bill for any charges. Awesome customer service from BFG!!!!!!!!

A few additions to make me feel cool.
The wife called me Sat about mid day and said "I pulled into the garage and heard a loud noise like air escaping and now my tire is flat" I went home and found this on the inside of the passenger front. They are building new houses across the street from my house and had just finished forming the sidewalk forms so thanks construction company! It has full time 4WD so it cost me a whole new set. I was so pissed but opted for the warranty on the new set as the construction will take a couple of years for the entire area.

I walked the street a little ways seeing if anymore were on the ground as it didn't take long to go flat but told her she did a good job as it looks like she picked them all up...

Do if you have full-time AWD, you HAVE to change all 4 tires at the same time?? Bummer!!

Unless the set is close to new you should. You need all four to be the same circumference or it can screw with the modules and sensors telling the system what tires to send power to.

Something similar happened to my wife. A contractor dropped a bucket full of nails like that when accelerating up a highway on ramp. 8+ people behind him all had multiple punctured tires. I don't remember how, but someone tracked the guy down, and his company paid for all the replacement tires. Her car had 3 punctured tires, but AWD Subaru so had to replace all 4. I had those busted tires sitting in the garage for 2 months or so, holding them as evidence while we waited for the company to pay up.

Had a wheel weight (like the ones used for balancing a tire) in my wife’s car. No joke, a few years ago I had a railroad spike in my tire!! Lol. Tire shop was just as shocked as I was! Wish I still had a picture of it too.

Never personally had anything that crazy pulled from a tire, just nails and such. But I get a kick out of the empty plastic container at the counter at my local America's Tire and all the crazy stuff in there that they've pulled out. This would fit right in...

There is a sign in a median like that near me and it is only like a foot back from the curb, I swear it gets nailed monthly. They replaced it like 2 weeks ago and it's bent flat to the ground already.

To stay on topic, I've only got nails in my tires before, nothing exciting.
