Don't have a picture but pulled a 5"long 3/8 bolt out of my sister's tire

And pulled a roughly 12"long piece of rebar out of a work truck once.

Years ago, I was a broke college kid at the time, I had a truck running bias ply tires. That's right no steel belt. They were cheap, but felt expensive at the time.

Hit an already dead animal, coyote I think, on a back road at about 50. Immediately felt problems with the tire. I had somehow managed to get a rib through the tread of the tire. Damned near an instant flat.

The only other "odd" thing that actually caused a flat, same truck, was some barbed wire that not only wrapped up in the tire to caused a flat but ripped the brake line out as well. Picked it up driving out of a pasture after fishing. Was a hell of an expensive fishing trip.

That is a copy of an old fashioned nut pick. Used to pick pieces of nut out of the shell.

Back in college I worked at a tire and lube shop. We had a truck come in on a wrecker, flat tire and no spare. We got it racked up, pulled the wheel, found a massive hole in the tire, and through wheel. Mechanic popped the brake drum off, found the handle for a chain binder (used by 18 wheelers to strap their loads down). Must’ve fallen off a truck and this guy ate it in the rear tire.

Final bill: one new tire, one used wheel from a local yard, completely rebuilt rear brakes. We hung it on the shop wall.

Porky pine quills, didn't flatten it though, did actually see corn stock go through once on a friends while hunting.
Had a 2013 Elantra and got a nail in it however it was shot as tire cut up from rim. Best part that yr they put a can of stop leak and a air compressure in whare the spair went to meet cafe standards for milage.

I was getting my tires mounted when a guy had his car flat-bedded to the shop. Mentioned a truck spilling nails and he caught two flats on one side.

Tech takes the wheels off and you could see through the hole in the tire.. and the rim.. Fella must have hit a curb or fixed object and thought it was just the tires.

Few years back was driving my Mitsubishi delica space gear 4x4 and the steering wheel and shaft just came loose in the middle of the highway in the Philippines, I could just spin the wheel no longer connected to the steering gear. Yeah I know this is about strange things in tires. About 3 days latter I had a flat tire, In the tire was the missing bolt from my own steering column.

I had the same thing happen to me today, by the exact same piece of metal. I was pulling out of a Burger King and noticed the curb had broken off. I thought I was driving over a harmless chunk of concrete but it blew my tire out. Could this be some sort of rebarb material?

Doesn’t look like rebar at all to me. Why would you knowingly drive over some chunk of broken concrete? Also probably a good thing you did. That tire wear doesn’t look good. Get some new tires and an alignment

I didn’t knowingly drive over it. I noticed it as I was exiting and tried to avoid it, but my back tire clipped it.

And yes, I was fortunate overall. One, that it happened in front of the place I work, and two, because I needed new tires. It’s been on my to-do list, but times have been tight.

IMG_20190816_121857.jpgTire was brand new, only had 300 miles on it. My guess is it was an exhaust hanger. Left about a 1" slice thru the sidewall.

I somehow ended up with an almost entirely intact and still useable screwdriver in the tire. Have picked up a few near foot long pieces of rebar over the years too.

Pretty boring, but I just picked up a 4 x 1/4" lag bolt, with washer. Thank goodness it was in the second tread and D.T. patched it for free. Thanks again, Home Depot. :censored:

I work at discount tire and the funniest store I have is one of my coworkers pulling out a drill bit and the customer saying "Oh I did that by accident... Could I have it back?"

Test drove a customer truck one time for intermittent vibration. Got a mile from the shop and it started vibrating like crazy, awesome I thought I duplicated it, went to make a u turn at next intersection and could hear the hissing, 1 inch by 3 inch chunk of aluminum sticking out of tire that i picked up on test drive to duplicate a vibration.

It was pouring rain and my boss was already pissed because of shop comebacks that morning so I changed out the customers tire with their spare on the side of the parkway so he wouldnt have to pay for a tow truck to bring me back.

Pouring summer rain. New Hanover county sheriff pulls up and stands beside me in the rain getting soaked so I wouldnt get hit by a passing car. Tells me it's his job to keep us safe.
