Seriously you are gonna want to get some cameras. People like that are very unpredictable, lucky for you he is your neighbor and he doesn’t like you.

In a case like this peace in the neighborhood might be worth not pursuing anything from him. A neighbor feud can be nasty.

What did you do to piss him off? People usually don't punch trucks unless there is a reason. It also would be a good ideal to have a chat with the local PD and if he is that volatile a protection order may be in order.

Go get a couple estimates for the repair from reputable shops, then contact the prosecutor's office, find out who will be representing the case in court, contact them and let them know you were financally harmed by the defendant's criminal conduct. Send them a copy of the highest estimate and have it ordered as restitution as part of his conviction. It will take some leg work on your end, but you can make it so he ends up paying for it.

Big ones are King suspension, SSO bumper w/winch, Pelfreybuilt sliders.
PDR (paintless dent repair) will be cheap and easy. You'll have that dent out in an afternoon. It's on a nice flat area, not a body line and not in-between any panels. You can take him to court if you'd like, but sometimes the courts are more trouble than their worth. That's your call.

What reasons would you have to punch someone else’s truck?

Two sides to every story but that’s a pretty good punch to the hood, the neighbor’s unhinged..

Not saying its right for him to have pucnhed the OP's truck, cause it isnt. But I guarantee it isnt the first time the OP has sped down the street.

    Full story is missing.

You could file a vandalism claim with your insurance. If you're covered, the deductible is usually lower than standard collision.

Depending on the final cost etc, your insurance will then go after him. They have full time attorneys, so it will be cheaper for them.

Since you weren't driving it, it should be covered under your comprehensive, if you have comprehensive. Call your insurance company and see what they say. Comprehensive claims don't usually affect your rates (not sure about state/local laws).

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
Why would you come to Tacomaworld to ask for legal advise? Plenty of lawyers give FREE advise and only charge after they take your case. Most everyone here is going to give an opinion and not sound legal advise.
And please tell the full story.

You could take him to small claims but that does not mean you will get paid only that he will have is a judgement against him. With no record of the incident the burden will be on you to prove he did it.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Honestly dude I would look for a white hood at a scrap yard or on Craigslist. I got into a bit of a war when I was your age with a guy in my hometown. Looking back it was pretty petty and I thought I was the bigger man and morally in the right. Long story short, it cost both of us several trucks and ended up in a rainy field with me staring down the barrel of his pistol and my shotgun pointed at his crotch. We decided to call a trues at that point but it could have ended a lot worse. Don't be a bitch but don't start a war with an unstable person. And stop speeding down the road!
