My '10 makes a racket. Clutch pedal linkage sounds like a box of baby birds, and some sort of front end creaking/pinging every time I come to a stop. It's been doing all this since new, now at 140k miles.

I don't really care much about it, no actual damage done. You 3rd genners will come around eventually to not caring too.

I had the dealer clean out my leaf springs and spray some penetrating grease in them. He claimed the squeaking was from dust/dirt getting into the springs. So what in the hell did I buy the TRD OR version for if I can't take it offroad without it squeaking all the damn time? I went fishing this weekend and drove about 40 miles of dirt road... sho'nuff they're squeaking / creaking again. Lame design on these things.

I know people were giving one guy shit because he kept getting sand in his leafs and it was wearing the bushings and stuff out. Had a terrible squeak. I agree with you. It's a truck. They are meant to be off-road. Not only that but Toyota shows them Bajaing out in the desert on the commercial. Are they saying you shouldn't be doing that?

I had some squeaking coming from the rear end at one point also whenever I would hit bumps in the road. Come to find out that my spare tire was not completely tight. I put on some ST MAXX tires including the spare and I guess they didn't tighten it up when they did the job. I put a couple cranks on the tool to raise the spare up into its cavity and haven't heard a single squeak yet (been about a month or so)

I'm not saying that is what could be your issue, and don't even know if this is a problem with the factory spare tires, but simply laying under the truck and trying to push on the spare is easy to do and you would hear something squeak if it is indeed the issue.

I thought it had to be my leafs also, never would have thought of the spare tire, but a buddy of mine crawled under, started just pushing on things and sure enough the spare had a little bit of play in it. But again, this could just be my unique issue because I had the spare tire swapped out for another ST MAXX, which is marginally larger.

Just passing it along in case it helps someone.
