Oh yeah three of those trucks were kept in a garage with a gravel floor, and they never had a problem.

Nope don’t work for Toyota. And definitely not your fault. There’s a recall for a reason. But it also can be prevented with some simple maintenance(plenty of guys with Toyotas that with a simple application of fluid film annually before winter season have a perfectly fine frame). Imagine if you took care of the underside as well of the rest of the truck. You wouldn’t be here saying you need a frame. And like a said before hopefully it gets taken care of.

Thanks. If I had known it was such a big problem I would have been more diligent. My local toyo dealer assured me that my frame was just fine. I have a good friend who will make sure it doesn't happen again, but it's too late for this frame and I still have a little bit of warranty left. Toyota needs to do the right thing.

Call Toyota corporate, explain to them what's wrong with your frame, and try to get a reference number before you go to the dealer. I had no issue going this route.

Already did that, have my case number. Just waiting for a reputable dealer to inspect, should happen next week. Thanks

Even sent pictures to corporate but they said they can only stand by what their dealerships say. To their credit they did encourage me to go to another dealership and supplied me with the two other closest dealers 30+ miles away.

Okay. Pictures before inspection, after inspection, and after scraping off the loose rust.

Does anyone think I can feel safe with my grandkids in this truck?

If you have the 2.7... yes. The V6 would be sketchy.

Have to ask. What's a priapism. Sorry if that makes me ignorant.

I would avoid saying that you scraped the rust off and then the hole appeared.

Claiming the hammer test would be better.

Also I appreciate your concern for the people I love. That's my biggest concern.

All I tried to do was descale so it could be sealed, but I understand where you're coming from.

The rust has to be removed or you are just compounding the problem by sealing it in.

I have more pics of the front cab mount with a large hole in the mount and two in the frame where it's attached.

So what is the hammer test? Someone else said that is only for out of warranty frames.

It should be done for all frame inspections. It is what it sounds like. Strike the frame with a hammer while inspecting it. It's how the dealer is supposed to inspect them.
