That is absolutely RIGHT I want respect-not for MY beliefs but for my God and my Bible. I don't CARE if you don't respect my beliefs. By 'respect' I mean stop crapping all over the folks here who DO have faith like you and your boy have been doing here!! If you want to live a Godless existance and you, at 32 years old, want to assist young derek in remaining faithless instead of keeping an open mind, fine. Just keep your nasty bottom of the earth thoughts off people's faiths, and I will stay off your nonfaith like I said to derek. After this post I am THROUGH talking to you because after those pics you put up-you give me the willys man!!

What or who gives the initial command to dna? Not us.

I'd rather beleive in God and try to follow the bible, then to take a chance being wrong! Hell would suck.

so why couldn't a fish have adapted to dry land making it an animal? We are currently "adapting" right now. Humans are taller, less hairy, less teeth, etc. How tall are your grandparents or their grand parents? And this evolution is happening within 100 years. Imagine what could happen over billions of years. Look at the earliest human skulls and bone structure- why has it changed so much? Why do some humans have tails? Why do we have organs that we don't even need?

I find it amazing that religious people believe in adaptation, but not evolution. Is it REALLY that different in the end? Evolution just takes a bit more time to complete.

I was raised catholic and did the whole sunday school thing. I also took some really cool college classes that explained quite a bit about science and evolution. Most of it I can't remember now, which is a shame, but it seemed pretty logical to me.

And let me get this straight- since evolution can't be proven- it's false. But since no one can disprove the bible, its fact?

In that science class I took, it explained when we think people started believing in organized religion- from burials and things of that nature. I still have my texts, maybe I'll pull some of them out and see what I can pull up.

At any rate, I believe there is a higher being- but until THAT is proven to me, beyond a book, then I will start going to church and believing it more. I will until then, believe in a combination of the two, with more credit towards the evolution theory.

And if God did create everything, what created God?

I keep reading things about how evolution is based scientific facts and therefore must be true. Which is a completely false statement. Evolution is in fact a religion of its own. It has not been proven in any way shape or form. answersingenisis.org is a great place to learn. Evolution thrives because creation is the only other option and people refuse to believe that

First off no one is craping on your bible and god. This is a discussion on evolution versus creationism. As someone arguing in favor of evolution I am going to point out absurdities I might find with creationism. Since your God and Bible are a big factor in creationism they are fair game. Derek is a adult in in control of his own mind which does seem open. So the "me and my boy" comment seems a bit off base since I am not trying to assist anyone with their views just stating mine. Like I said in my previous post you want all this respect but want to give none. My thoughts may differ but they are not "bottom of the earth" and they were not injected into my head from scholars and mtv programs. I dont even watch much TV at all. So if you want all this respect learn to give it as well. Also why do you bring up age so much. Dont confuse age with wisdom.

Actually its just a theory. based on the available scientific data collected. Could be wrong, just seems slightly more realistic than the bibles version.

Maybe people would be able to believe in creation if it didn't get lumped together with all these unsubstantiated religious theories.(meaning that they know who created it)

Yes but that data does not point to evolution. I realize this works both ways but If you handed the same evidence to a bible believing scientist and a evolution believing scientist you would get too different approches to it. From all the things Ive seen science is continually helping out the creation side and disproving the evolution side.

I have spent time thinking about it. In the end, it just doesn't make sense.

And thanks man. You're a cool dude, too. :D

Because I support Obama and don't believe in God.

like I said b4 the basic idea might be a option but when combined with a bunch of religious theory it becomes highly unlikely. its one thing to say things were created by a unknown source. When you start trying to assign a religious figure to that source it losses all of its credibility as a theory.

I always find discussions of this nature amusing. Both sides are trying and see each others points but the us vs them always comes out! So...

To those in favor of creationism let just say, "Oh Yea of Little Faith"! Is it not your contention that God is all powerful and all knowing? And that he work's in mysteriuos ways? Then wouldn't it be safe to assume, that God, in his infinite wisdom and power created a universe from "nothing" billions of years ago. Also, "knowing" that evolution would unfold exactly as it has done. Therefore God is creation and evoultion, anything less would cheapen him and us.

To the evolutionist, science isn't an exact science. Theory's change, mutate, fall and give rise to new insight's. In 100 years or more, Einstein and his contempories may be seen as quaint and uninformed. New information and observations will require we further our quest for knowledge and understanding. And wouldn't be ironic in our quest for knowledge we come to prove that God is the answer to all our thories and speculations! According, with evolution all things are in a transitory state and species come and go...99% of all living species that inhabited this planet are now extinct! Given that so called fact, then we can assume that we will become extinct also. What then? Without some sort of beleif system we'd be at each others throat, thereby hastening our own demise! Can you blame those who wish to believe in something greater than ourselves? To relieve the banality of existance.

...of course, I, like you may also be full of it!
