I find it funny how someone always brings up Lee Strobel. One single non religious person "converted" to religion and became a pastor. I bet we could find hundreds, if not more, on TW alone who did the opposite. What about Dan Barker? He was a preacher who became atheist. Nobody on the non religious side parades him around. Why you ask? Because it proves nothing. Lee Strobel's books are pretty weak on content and logic anyways. It's the same old (already disproved) irreducible complexity argument along with some half-assed argument against the big-bang, finished with a "well where's the croc-a-duck?" lunacy.

Well, I just bought my Tacoma and joined the forum. Since I didn't have much knowledge to help others on Tacoma's I haven't posted. I appreciate your suggestion that my opinion is irrelevant based on my post count, but I'm not sure I agree.

I will try to add more "SUBBED's", "agree's", and "Oh Yeah's" to threads to get my post count up for ya. :) Sorry for the sarcasm, it's one of my flaws.

    Dammit!

I forgot about this side of the argument.

These religious debates are confusing, man. Unless, of course, you just accept whatever it was your parents/peers/social worker/lover/community/etc. did...

Thanks for your opinion and allowing me mine. I do not wish to push my opinion on you. If you read the book and found it illogical that is fine. If you have other sources that you feel contribute to the subject, that's great too. It is about presenting info and opinions and coming to your own conclusion.

Meant no disrespect towards you, just not a fan of Strobel. I've been interested in religion for years and just always am disappointed when I read anything by him. I also just find his status as somewhat ironic.

On a side note, I was very entertained by your posting observations. I too am new and don't post much. I have also notice that those with post counts in the thousands often post "subbed" or the ever present a e-motion smile or whatever.

    I knew that would happen.

I can assure you that I intended "fixed that for you." I might be strongly opinionated, but I reserve "FU" for people I know decently well and really like. I wouldn't use that in a thread like this one.

I was brought up Roman Catholic and even have a catholic priest for an uncle (no he does not molest kids and is by far my coolest uncle). After my confirmation and heading off to college I finally realized I didn't "believe". So I guess I'd be one example for you.

I know I know, 'cool story bro'.

You should respond to the first time you asked for facts before asking for us to prove more to you

How about when religion stated earth was the center of the universe, and that everything revolved around us? Then they imprisoned or killed everyone that didn't agree, like this wack job named Galileo

Or how about witch hunts? In the name of saving religion an estimated 40,000-100,000 people were killed because they did absolutely crazy things like swimming! Only the devil could teach to conquer water

I think we've turned this into more of a "is there a God" thread instead of staying on topic about the debate between creation and evolution. While they go hand-in-hand, I'm interested to hear more specific debates about whether God made humans or we evolved from apes, protozoa, plants, whatever.

    Carry on...
