It took to post #55 to get to that.

I personally don't have it. But that is why it is called that people have faith in a higher being and that to me is fine. So long as you don't try to force it down my throat.

I believe in evolution simply because I'm a scientific type of a person. I believe in what I see, touch and experience. I read article about animals whose physiology changes to adapt to their environment. For a fish that can change in as little as 40 years to me is quite impressive.

As another member pointed out in a PM, you've clearly not studied the Bible enough - yet you spew out these moronic claims that are flat out stupid (in regards to the New Earth Creationism crap), and try to pass it off as mass truth (in the sense that that's what all creationists and/or Christians believe).

Politics are one thing, but my faith is different - and I don't care to debate it with someone who isn't willing to take the time to see the truth behind both sides (even that website you posted about NEC stated that they're different from those who believe, like myself, that the world is billions and billions of years old).

    I'm done.

*here's the cue for your lame attempt at a "joke" for this thread's topic*

Both of these theories require faith. I personally believe that God created everything. He did it in 6 24 hour days and on the last day he rested. Many people on here have brought up very interesting points. Man created science. Man also wrote the Bible and every other religous text. So who is to say that one man is right and the other is wrong. It all comes down to faith. What seems more right. We can't design something that works better than the human body. It is so complex. How can I believe that all this is just some accident. Evolution is not a proven theory. That's why it is still a theory.

    I guess im confused.

How do you figure some religious people will look at scientific work and say, "sure the Earth is 4 billion years and the universe is 14 billion years old" but when other scientist look at evolution and say well species evolve those religious people say "no way" thats impossible.

and if the earth is 4 billion years old and the universe is 14 billion....what was god doing for those 10 billion years before he created earth and us?

reminds me too of the simpsons movie where homer opens the bible and says, "there's no answers in here!!!!!"

    Or an even bigger question

Why did God wait an infinite amount of time before he created everything?

my momma always said that procrastination was a bad thing

i doubt cavemen would be in the bible since that would be part of evolving from cavemen to what we are today

Meh, my views on that differ from most Christians. I think that anybody, regardless of religion or whatever can go to heaven as long as they are a "good" person. Even those of you who seem to have such a negative view of Christianity.

I can understand it though. I live in a heavily Baptist area and everybody who is not a part of the local Baptist church is a sinner and will go to hell. It's almost like a cult. The family's bring their children up in this church, then they tell their kids to get all their friends to come to the youth group meetings. Then they brainwash you. I am not so easily fooled!

Me, I believe God and Jesus. It's my own personal belief, and I don't really give a damn about what anyone else has to say about that.
