This doesn't show proof of a Creator, however, only evidence supporting the story of Moses parting the Red Sea.

Which has also been explained scientifically:

Indeed, Winds......Last I checked, God doesnt have a construction crew following him around. What else could have been used?

Why couldn't he have used a construction crew? He's all-seeing, all-knowing. He could have said, "Well, crap. Moses is gonna need a crew to help him out here." He's got that kinda power, right? If he can turn staffs into serpents, he can change peasants into iron-workers, right?

    Sure.

I'm not questioning the validity of the story, because I wasn't there. All I was attempting to do was illustrate that there are plausible scenarios for many of the stories contained within the Bible.

Chris specifically mentioned the parting of the Red Sea, so that was the example at hand.

Is it possible that God placed the power to part the Red Sea into Moses? Sure.

Is it possible that some really strong winds parted the sea with no help from the divine? Yep.

The problem at hand is that the "evidence" at the bottom of the Red Sea suggesting an army was used as proof of Creationism, whereas there are plausible methods of disproving this. So in actuality it is not "proof."

The planet and it's atmospheric conditions came first...the organisms which now live on that planet came second, and they evolved to live under those conditions.

First off, there is no scientific evidence of creationism...

And honestly, if you are an educated adult in a developed country, I don't see how you could possibly believe that there is some supreme deity with magical powers who lives in the sky...

Look at the complexity of the human brain? you think that is a random segment of code? that it used to be an animal? No wonder society acts like animals people are being taught that they are animals. The reason that I believe in creation is that the complexity of the world cannot simply arrange itself by chance. It is just too perfect.

Neither side will ever be able to prove 100% until we die (or Christ comes back).

Do you have any idea how old the Earth is? This didn't occur over night...it took millions of years for complex organisms to develop. Do you really believe that a guy in the sky just said "let there be man" and that's it?

Im sure there was a little more to it than that.....but, given what people have mentioned in this thread, the complexity of the brain, other things, etc., Yes. IM A BELIVER! :p

Hate to break your bubble but you, sir, ARE an animal. There is nothing at all different between you and any 'animal' you can think of. There are 'animals' with language and communication, and we are definitely not the only ones who have emotions. We aren't even the only one's who use tools. So what makes you different?

This is reasoning backwards (see prior post). But another way to help people see the issue is that the idea that a god sprang from nothing or always was is even more improbable because one has to posit the supernatural. Evolution only relies upon natural forces, is more likely than an idea that has to explain the same event PLUS a supernatural being and forces in addition to nature.

I'd like to see a reference to that factual assertion. In addition to the issue that even if there is evidence of an 'army' at the bottom of the Red Sea, what is the date of the artifact? And how does it show it had anything to do with an account in Exodus?

Finally, many (if not most) Biblical scholars who are trying to defend the Bible argue the event was more likely to have happened at the Sea of Reeds, a much shallower area, marsh like with many narrow streams of water.

I belive one of the Army folks left a dated note saying "to whom this may concern, that blasted Moses did this....gurgle....to us.....gurgle........"

Homo Sapiens and Chimpanzees share 96% of their DNA in common. Apes and man don't just have a common ancestor, we ARE apes.

It's odd isn't it that god decided to make us so very much like a mere animal?

I imagine that from an ape's point of view, or that of a dolphin's THEY are special and we are merely counted among the other animals.
