Here's what I know, I know that a teacher who I never got the opportunity to meet but instructed my pastor and another 30 on top of that, when he encountered questions like the ones you are all posing he would simply say, "let's go to the hospital and pray for those who are dying". He'd take them and that's exactly what they'd do.

He did it as an illustration of priorities. People don't need to know how God exists when it matters most to them, they need to know His love. Now I've spent this morning until right now praying for our church, and our city because we are flooded, every Sunday, with requests of people who are crying out for a savior. People who cry out for healing and restoration. In my year tenure here at our church I've seen babies healed from visible tumors overnight, cancer abolished completely with a prayer, swelling visibly receding with the power of God's touch....I see these things at least monthly if not weekly. The baby was just a few months ago. The family cane up for prayer on Sunday that their 2 month old daughter with a baseball sized brain tumor's surgery would go fine the next day (Monday). They went in and the doctors performed the final MRI to map again where they needed to make incisions and there was no more tumor, and no trace of cancer in her body.

I can't argue those things, they happened with hundreds of witnesses and yet here we are, talking about space and dogs. It simply does not matter. When you need God, and are disparate for Him, He'll absolutely be there. But I can't be responsible to explain the existence of my creator. I believe because I've seen, and then from there learned, and grown and have been changed by His power and His words.

1st question, I believe God and love are the same thing. I believe that when we act out of love, we are living out of Gods design (genesis says we are created in His image).

2nd question, that's a question of free will. Hitler chose what he wanted to do, and no, it did not line up with what God wanted for his life. Exemption doesn't apply here because we have choice.

3rd question of prayer, people pray for a myriad of reasons. I just prayed for some folks who need a car, and a place to stay, as well as some folks dealing with substance abuse. Part of it is obedience, God tells us to ask Him for things in faith. And God's mind can be changed through our petition, look at Moses asking God to spare his people when God was going to destroy them. There's several occurrences where God spares people because of the obedience of others interceding on their behalf. It's definitely not useless.

 

And death was never Gods plan. Which is why He sent Jesus so we could go back to God's original design. Eternal life.

 

That's a predestination vs free will discussion. It's been debated for hundreds of years, it has to be both which is beyond my understanding haha.

 

It's not a no at all, God definitely has a plan for our life, whether or not we choose that one is another story. Now, God can redeem anything and everything for His glory as well so anything we choose can be used by Him to further His plan.....I didn't say it was easy to understand haha

 

It gets tricky because on one hand you seem to be denying Gods power, and on the other you deny his love and grace. I know neither of those things are true because I truly believe God to be both all powerful AND all loving. That's where my brain begins to hurt lol.

 

Unfortunately there would easily be more evidence that God is absolutely not there for most people of faith that pray for a loved one to be healed. People that don't believe have as much chance of a cancer disappearing, pray can't be shown to be the cause, we don't know that much about why tumors indeed go away.

 

That was Moses' law, we were freed from that with Jesus' life. There was a new covenant made in the New Testament.

Jesus' was the fulfillment of those laws.

 

For someone who has an hour to kill, this was very interesting to me. I'm still debating it but it presents some powerful evidence I hadn't thought about on the star of Bethlehem, meaning, the star the 3 wise men followed to get to Jesus' birth.

Far from it! Jesus only had the Old Testament to teach from, it's still God's word, but just like with the prophecies that are always taken out of context in the books of the major and minor prophets, you have to look at the context of why and when and who it was written for. Hermaneutics is your friend in the scripture.
