And what is the quality that all of those facets of love share in common? They all come down to simply doing what's morally right. So that's how I define love:

    Doing what's morally right. :)

I love this thread, it hibernates for a few months but always manages to come back for a little bit. It's not quite a zombie thread, more like a groundhog thread.

Let me throw this out there, is God a woman or a man?

i'd say neither, but the Bible does say we were created in His image, so who knows if tha means just figuratively or literally as well

With proper displacement rocks, will float. Steel is not supposed to float, yet look at Naval ships.

This is what I can't get over... But not just Christians.

What makes one religion more right than another?...

I always did have a valid argument on that phrase. Personally I have never actually met God. Has anyone actually MET God and have ANY idea what he looks like? I haven't heard of anyone who has. So if God created man in his own image, how do we know that he is not simply a life force, devoid of physical attributes? This could explain why we started off as tiny amoebas and evolved from there.

I am Christian, and do believe in God and such, but I was never a fan of organized religion that required a strict "This is how it is, and if you don't believe exactly that, then you are doomed to rot in Hell" methodology. Nobody KNOWS FOR A FACT exactly who/what God is. We only know what is passed down to us from our fathers, which was passed down from theirs, and theirs, and theirs.... The Bible was written by man, and since man is capable of making mistakes, who are we to know that every single thing written is exactly how we interpret it? How can anyone know with 100% certainty? You can't. That is why there is this thing called "faith" It is what we feel is right. Until I die I will not know what is after. I have faith that there is more to my existence than something that constitutes less than a micro-ripple in the timeline of the universe. If I am wrong, I will never know.

That's what I was getting at

Belief systems put in place to cope with the end of life which now cause world chaos.

Yeah but the only " wood " they found up there they claim to have petrified and that's why it resembles stone . The same stone that is everywhere else at the site

Creationism. I say this as a Christian who knows God exists and that he created the universe and everything within it. The fact of the matter is neither view can prove itself right 100% so in a way, they are both matters of faith, one through science and the other through religion. I simply cannot accept the belief that a random bang happened and here we are millions of years later communicating intelligently over the internet when the 2nd law of thermodynamics promotes the idea that everything tends toward disorder. Has anyone seen or read the book: "Heaven is for Real" ?
