I checked my credit card point balance, and it said that 1000 points are expiring by December. Since most purchases are 1 point per dollar, and some places are 3 points per dollar, 1000 points expiring is loosing a lot.

My credit card is through citi bank if that matters.

I elected to use my points toward gift cards be cause the point to value ratio was better than using it toward an specific product.

For example, I was able to get a $200 gift card to Best Buy for the 21,000 points, while a 2 way CB radio worth only $99 dollars (honored through Best Buy) cost 22,500 points.

Gift cards are the way to go.

For what did you use your credit card points?

My point cards are useless. The things they offer aren't worth it.

Cash. I looked into what I could buy with my points and 99% of the items I'd be better off getting cash and purchasing myself.

I usually get gift cards for restaurants then take the lady out. Anything extra I usually send over to Wounded Warrior or Salvation Army as a donation

2 round trips from NY to CA!! miles never expire (as long as you have some activity in 18 months). Use the credit card to fill up my oil tanks and get almost 1000 miles from that. Food shopping, utility bills, pretty much everything .. I would love to pay my mortgage with it, but they dont accept credit cards .. oh well.

I bought my GoPro HD camera with my Amex points. They sent me an email saying I could get 20% off any purchase if I used my points right then. I was like, "Done"
