I just recently got into ham radio at the request of my mother who wanted to do it but not do it alone. It's been pretty fun and something to play with on my long drives to work and back everyday.

Ha, wasn’t expecting seeing you post here. I got my ham license in 2019. Didn’t do much with it then. I just recently got back into it. I guy I work with helped motivate me also. I got a mobile ham radio in my truck along with a GMRS radio. I have a few HTs at home. I mostly listen to the local repeaters back and forth to work. Something else we can chat about when we get together for a trail ride. Be safe in the weather coming!!

Good deal! I work in Destin so I have an hour commute one way everyday. Do you go to the ham club in Defuniak? We'll try to stay safe, hopefully we don't get too much here. You do the same!

I got about the same commute. I work on Eglin, it’s 40 miles each way from my house. I haven’t been to the club. I listened to their net Friday night on the way home. I have to be at work around 6:30 so it’s pretty quiet that early. Usually pretty active in the evening. The Crestview VHF repeater is usually the most active I’ve noticed.
