I have been considering the firestone air bags. What are peoples thoughts on these three options? I did get the replacement leaf pack but they are no good in my opinion. What are people preferring for new leaf packs? Old Man Emu seems to be popular. What are other good options? I wonder if its worth it to do both? Get rid of these leafs now, get new ones and get air bags for when its extra heavy. Ill have to look into Sumo Springs.

The downside to replacing the leaf pack is that they also provide lift. So without lifting the front, you'll have a serious stink bug effect. Of course there are custom options, such as deaver, but they're more expensive. That's why the air bags are awesome for someone with stock leafs, as they just increase capacity when you need it.

I have some lift now but its blocks in the back and spacers in the front. I wonder if getting rid of the back blocks and putting in better leafs will give me that added height back to match the lifted front. Ah who am I kidding, at this point I would probably not spend the money on leafs but get the bags. I need to put that money towards other parts and become a mechanic for a few things first.

I say get the leafs then! Only a little more and much better quality. I'm surprised you're not getting axle wrap with blocks and weight in the back.

Axel warp eh? Don't know how that would effect the drive or how I would even look for it. I will have to look into that more. So your vote is leafs over airbags. My dilemma when choosing between the two is rake and weight. The weight of building supplies adds up pretty fast and I'm a contractor so I want to add lots of weight at times. I have seen other guys in the same line of work add leaf packs that make the back end look ridiculous in my opinion just to handle the weight of supplies. I like the idea of adjustability with the air bags for heavy loads and lighter loads because the truck can maintain a level look. You can see which way I'm leaning but I'm open to understanding the pros and cons of each. My knowledge is limited in the area.
