I have an 06 2.7L 4cyl Tacoma Base 6 Lug 4x4 that has a slight chirping sound both at idle and while running (frequency of chirping matches engine speed). I don't have an automotive stethescope so I can't isolate where it's coming from, but when I apply pressure to the clutch (just enough travel to start feeling pressure) it goes away. I'm thinking either a bearing somewhere in the clutch...but also considering that it may be a pulley bearing. I replaced the serpentine belt about 5k miles ago and I'm considering getting a new belt tensioner, but I don't know applying slight pressure to the clutch would cause the noise to cease. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Throw out bearing on the clutch. Just a guess

THROWOUT BEARING. It is a sealed bearing and sounds like it is getting dry, once that happens the friction increases and failure is certain.

Appreciate the help guys. Any suggestions for clutch mods while I'm in there?
