Sadly I agree with this to a certain degree. My only issue is what about leaders of "bigger" gangs like the mafia or cartel etc. They certainly aren't poor, they may have started out that way but afteroney their next goal is power. Op another thing you might want to look into is the formation of gangs in immigrant neighborhoods.

I actually love it. I like it a lot down here. The job can be pretty fun at times too  But its nice to be able to walk places as opposed to driving 30 minutes to get anywhere

Last time I was at our ranch in Thompson the good 'ole boys and my uncle had a good laugh about swiss-cheesing a car in HOTLANTA.

Yes really, immigrants. I don't know if you are one or whatever, but if I were to move to a new country I would want to go to a place where there were more Americans. That's just simple human nature. When neighborhoods fill with one race, nationalism increases and gangs emerge.

Gangs, from street level shitbirds up to the mafia, are basically pyramid schemes, in that the ones making real money are at the top of the organization, and there are very few welathy gang memebers.

For the leadership of the gangs- the smart ones at least- the gang is a business. They just use racial identity/pride, geographic location, etc. as a recruitment tool. They know that it is better to employ people loyal to the orgzanization than a bunch of freelance drug dealers- less chance of people skimming off the top if they're loyal to you, and afraid of the rest of the gang.

We don't really have Los Angeles type gangs here in South Florida, most of our hardcore gang bangers have relocated from other areas, and they usually dont end up banging here because their gang doesn't really have an established presence in South Florida.
Most of our 'gangs' are teenagers, and they mostly just sell drugs and burglarize houses.
From a Law Enforcement stand point it isnt really looked at as a 'gang' problem. We have a multi-agency gang task force, but the majority of gang members identified or arrested in the sweeps are just punks. Our real hardcore criminals aren't affiliated.
