Critique my possible 2010 OME 2" lift build.

    So, here it goes: I currently have a 2010 Tacoma Access Cab base model 4X4 with a V6 and no TRD package. I currently have access to a garage/lift and would like to put 32” tires and a lift on it. I have been doing my research and just wanted to list my ideas for feedback and pose a few questions. I have been thinking about the following:
    Complete Old Man Emu Heavy load 2” lift kit. (Part No. OMETAC05HK)
    Total Chaos Upper Control Arms (Part No. TC-96504)
    Here come the questions:
    1.) What tire wheel combination would be best (6Lug)? I will be approx. 70/30 road/trail. Also, where would I buy said tires/wheels?
    2.) Would the larger tires require different gears in the differential?
    3.) The OME kit is “complete”, but is there anything else I would need to buy to install it?
    4.) Other than requiring an alignment, after the lift is installed, is there anything else I’m missing?

    WeatherTech floor liners, tailgate hoseclamp, Famous Fab sliders, Brute Force Fab rear bumper, Icon "3T" suspension.
    OZ is correct, that's the heavy setup for a bumper and winch, and the rear springs will give you way over 2" back there too.

    1 - Lots of options, what size are your stock rims?

    2 - Different gearing not needed for 32" tires.

    3 - I think it has everything needed for a nice suspension.

    4 - I don't think so.

    Thanks for the info. I'm rotating the tires this weekend. As soon as I do I'll continue the discussion. (I assume by looking on the inside of the wheel is the only surefire way to tell the size of the wheel).

    Ok, so my tires are P245/75R16. I was looking at getting the the TOYO A/T II Tires which are P265R75R16 (32.65” diameter). The difference in width is .79”.
    1. Will this difference require wheel spacers?
    2. The sticky entitled “bjmoose installs full OME kit and rear brake lines” has the gentlemen installing new rear brake lines with his lift. Is this required?
    3. So, new tires will cause my speedometer to be off a bit. Is there a way to recalibrate it or am I always going to be doing it in my head?

    I have installed the complete OME kit, ARB bumper and winch.
    The 886 springs definitely gave me more lift than was expected.
    I agree with Oz, I ramped my truck at Westshore Spring and the rear lines are plenty long.
    The only problem I am having is a pretty good pull to the left, even after being to the Victoria stealership TWICE for alignment attempts.
    Not sure why I still have the pull. Metro said that was the best they could do, blaming the problems on the lift.
    Other than the alignment issue I am very happy with the kit, the Dakars in the rear are strong enough to haul my quad without squatting the truck down.
    I haven't had time to wheel it yet though, I've got a house and yard to maintain too. And a wife. ;-)

    Crusher, did you install UCAs with your lift. If not, do you think this would help the allignment issue?

    No I didn't install new uca's. yesterday I went to a local 4X4 shop to discuss the problem, they basically told me I picked the wrong shop to align. They have installed many of these kits and had no problems. I'll be taking it to the shop they recommended.
    I specifically asked if replacing the uca's would help, they said no.
    I'll post again after I have this other shop align it for me.

    Apparently the dealership techs don't like anything modified. At least here in Victoria. They would rather work on Grandma's Camry....

    Just re-read my previous post, don't know what I was thinking but the pull is to the right.

    ARB bumper, OME 886's, Dakars, lr ucas, 1 piece driveshaft, softopper, 255/85 KM2, 60" hi-lift with custom mounts, thule roof rack, BAMF sliders
    OP, if you only want 2" of lift consider the Iron Man lift (heard good things). With 2" of lift you should have no problems aligning with stock uca's.
